The 7,500 km-long Indian coastline is dotted with over 200 ports,
transporting over 90% of the country's total trade by volume and 70%
by value, and in today’s globalised world is nothing less than the lifeline
of the Indian economy. What's more? The total cargo at Indian ports
is projected to increase to about 2,800 MMT by 2020 from 980 MMT
currently. But can Indian ports handle the added pressure? The Dollar
