This document discusses the impact of a father's spiritual involvement on their child's spiritual life. It finds that if both parents worshipped regularly with their child, there is an 80% chance the child will worship as an adult. If only the mother worshipped regularly, the chance is 30%, but if only the father worshipped regularly the chance increases to 70%. It then provides several biblical examples of fathers blessing or impacting their children's spiritual lives.
The Shunammite woman “perceived” that Elisha was a “holy man of God” (9) What characterizes a holy man or woman of God to you? Based on your list would you be considered a holy person? What needs to change in us for others to see “Christ in us”? What did the Shunammite woman do when she noticed her son was dead? (21-30) What lessons can you apply to your-self from her response? Why did she tell Gehazi “It is well” when he inquired of her son when, in fact, her son was dead? (26) Why did Gehazi “thrust her away” when she “caught Elisha by the feet”? (27) What was Elisha’s response? What is the significance of this event? Did the Shunammite woman complain to Elisha when her son died? Explain. (28) Why do you suppose Elisha sent Gehazi instead of going himself to her dead son? What is the significance of Elisha's instructions to Gehazi to “lay my staff on the face of the child? (29) Why didn’t this revive the boy? (31-32) How did Elisha raise the boy from the dead? (33-37)

Parenting is part of the institution of marriage, a God-ordained activity and hence a "ministry" itself. As parents we have a great opportunity before us to shape and mold the lives entrusted to us. Discover Biblical and practical principles on how to nurture, build, discipline and nurture your children.

After David had Uriah killed, his heart turned to God. Psalm 51 records a prayer of David asking God to cleanse his heart. How did he recover from such a great sin and restore his relationship with God?
What is stopping you from giving yourself entirely to God? For some it is the pursuit of wealth. For others, it may be the pursuit of pleasure. Still others may be fearful of what others will think and say while others just want to be in control of their own lives. Whatever stands in your way of giving yourself completely to God, remove it!
Man has a lot of questions in his life. Who am I? What I want? Does God exists? Is He interested in me? The heart itself can give many answers to a man, but most people do not go beyond the shadow of their own ego. If I believe that in the Bible God has revealed his view of man, then this book can give me answers to all my questions.
Ephesians 6:1-4 Twelve things a dad should say to his children. I love you, I believe in you, love God, love your spouse, I am with you, respect yourself and others, guard your character, I am sorry, I am praying for you, work hard, laugh, be brave.
Lesson 6 of 11 on the Ten Commandments. This sermon on the fifth commandment was presented August 21, 2011, at Palm Desert Church of Christ, by Dale Wells.
Everyone gets a second chance.
Your failure isn’t fatal. Your regrets are not insurmountable. Your life is not beyond repair. Your sin is not greater than God’s grace. HE has the power to heal and restore the most wrecked life you can imagine, and He wants to do it for you. Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2Sa 9:6 And Mephibosheth,
the son of Jonathan, came to
David, and falling down on his
face, gave him honour. And
David said, Mephibosheth.
And answering he said, Your
servant is here.
14.
2Sa 9:7 And David said to him,
Have no fear: for truly I will be
good to you, because of your
father Jonathan, and I will give
back to you all the land which
was Saul's; and you will have a
place at my table at all times.

1Ki 11:11 So the Lord said to

done this, and have not kept
my agreement and my laws,
which I gave you, I will take
the kingdom away from you
by force and will give it to your

Gen 27:27 And he came near,
and kissed him: and he
smelled the smell of his
raiment, and blessed him, and
said, See, the smell of my son
is as the smell of a field which
the LORD hath blessed:

Gen 27:28 Therefore God give
thee of the dew of heaven,
and the fatness of the earth,
and plenty of corn and wine:
20.
Gen 27:29 Let people serve
thee, and nations bow down to
thee: be lord over thy brethren,
and let thy mother's sons bow
down to thee: cursed be every
one that curseth thee, and
blessed be he that blesseth
thee.
21.
"Build me a son, O Lord, who
will be strong enough to know
when he is weak, & brave
enough to face himself when
he is afraid. One who will be
proud & unbending in honest
defeat, & humble & gentle in
victory.
22.
"Build me a son whose wishes will
not take the place of deeds - a
son who will know Thee, who is
the foundation stone of
knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not
in the path of ease & comfort, but
under the stress & spur of
difficulties & challenge.
23.
"Here let him learn to stand up to
the storm. Here let him learn
compassion for those who fail.
Build me a son whose heart will be
clear, whose goal will be high, a
son who will master himself before
he seeks to master other men, one
who will reach into the future, yet
never forget the past.
24.
"And after all these things are his,
add, I pray, enough of a sense of
humor so that he may always be
serious but never take himself too
seriously. Give him humility so that
he may always remember the
simplicity of true greatness, & an
open mind of true wisdom, & the
meekness of true strength.
25.
"Then I, his father, will dare
to whisper, `I have not lived
in vain.’"
