The Controller can only communicate with the current torch holder, who is now Aislin. The Controller pushes Aislin hard to prepare for university, enrolling her against her wishes. When Aislin's mother Laura questions why she is leaving, the Controller wishes Laura could still hear her to explain but can only communicate with Aislin as the new torch holder.

ISBI Challenge! Last time I finally started
to get the hang of homework, but now it
seems that Laura can’t hear me
anymore…
What’s going on?

3. Laura!
Laura, seriously, if this is a joke…

4. Aislin: “Mom! Are you alright?”

5. Laura: “What is it?”
Aislin: “I guess it’s nothing. But I was
sure I heard someone screaming your
name.”
Laura: “Well, I’m okay.”
Wait a minute…

6. Aislin: “What was that?”
Laura: “What was what?”
What was me!

7. Aislin: “Who are you?”
I’m the Controller.
Aislin: “That thing that mom was always
talking about?”
Yup. Though I’m not really a thing. I’m a
person. And the manipulator of your life.
Wow. It sounds horrible when I say it
that way.

8. Aislin: “I’m crazy. Aelwin finally pushed
me over the edge. I’m crazy.”
Ah, come on, you aren’t crazy. I’m
perfectly real. And boy do we have some
work to do to get you ready for
university.

9. Aislin: “Ug. Why am I awake at 3 in the
morning?”
Because I woke you up. Time to get
cracking little lady. You need scholarship
money, and only a few days before I
have to send you to college, which
believe me, you need.

10. Aislin: “We have a tread mill!?”
Uh, yeah. It’s only been in the middle of
your living room for your entire life.
Aislin: “Really? I had no idea. I like it.”
Apparently. She just discovered that her
‘destined hobby’ is fitness.

11. Aislin: “I’m still not convinced that you
aren’t some trick from Aelwin.”
Even if I am, you’ll thank me.
Aislin: “You’re a slave driver you know.
First, working out for several hours, then
school, then homework, and now I’m
going to work. I’m tired!”
That’s nothing. Just wait until you’re a
parent!

12. Huh. It seems Komei ended up back on
the floor.
…
I guess I should wake him up before it’s
been a full day again, huh?
Shame.

13. Komei: “Ug. I need to stop sleeping on
the floor. My back kills.”
*snicker* Let’s see how long it takes him
to realize he’s an elder, shall we?

14. Seriously? What inside of this house fits
the bill of excellence?
Kids who keep getting bad grades, a dad
who keeps passing out, and a mom who
will never fulfil her dream, because I took
too long.
And did I mention that four out of five of
them are crazy?

15. 3,500 isn’t a bad amount, considering
that you spent your entire life goofing off.
And you got the Tsang and Will Wright
grants all on your own! That’s half, so I
say congrats.
You ready for college? Because I’m
ready to max out your skills and get you
a diploma. I’m especially looking forward
to having a sim that can actually cook.
Aislin: “I have a feeling that you are way
more excited about this than I am.”
Which is funny, because I usually hate
university.

16. Do you think we should take your
sisters, too? I will actually be able to
control them in Uni.
Aislin: “I think…”
Decide wisely, because this will
determine what I do for the rest of this
challenge, which is very long by the way.
Aislin: “Um… I don’t know.”
Well, you’re a lot of help.

17. Aislin: “Hey! This is a lot of pressure!
You’ve been pushing me super hard and
now you expect me to make a decision
that will effect all of my future
decedents? How can I possibly not be
worried about the choice I make?
Besides, I’m new to this whole torch
holder thing. If you want an answer, why
don’t you just ask my mom?”
Because I can’t…

18. Aislin: “What do you mean?”
I mean, that as soon as you became old
enough to take over as torch holder,
Laura stopped being able to hear me.
Only the torch holder can hear me.
Aislin: “Oh. I thought you just didn’t talk
to anyone, but mom.”
Nope, so just as much as you are stuck
with me, I’m stuck with you. So let’s just
make this work, okay?

19. Aislin: “I’m tired. I’m going to bed.”
Uh, no, you’re going to college.
Aislin: “Bed.”

20. College.
Aislin: “I hate you.”
Laura: “Why’s my baby leaving?
Controller, why is she leaving?”
*sigh* I wish she could hear me.

21. Aislin: “The Controller says it’ll be fine,
Mom. She’s watching over me.”
