Stranger Danger: Securing Third Party Components (Tech2020)Guy Podjarny
Building software today involves more assembly than actual coding. Much of our code is in fact pulled in open source packages, and the applications heavily rely on surrounding third party binaries. These third parties make us more productive - but they also introduce an enormous risk. Each third party component is a potential source of vulnerabilities or malicious code, each third party service a potential door into our system.
This talk contains more information about this risk, create a framework for digesting and tackling it, and lists a myriad of tools that can help.
What's on at the Pickering Public Library for May-June 2013.
The Pickering Public Library will be the heart of an engaged and creative community.
We will enrich and inspire the lives of all residents; actively connecting people, ideas and cultures with openness and respect. We will be leaders in information technology, providing access to innovative technology for all. Pickering Public Library will be a destination - a fun place to visit, staffed by a diverse group of professionals who are committed to making a difference in the community.

3. What

THE
COSTUME
CONTEST!
Will
the
color
stain
my
clothes,
shoes,
or
makeup?
If
you
want
a
lot
of
color
to
hit
your
shirt,
plan
to
run
or
walk
closer
to
the
color
throwers.
The
paint
throwers
will
be
stationed
every
¼
mile
around
the
campus
loop.
Tip:
If
you
love
the
final
color
of
your
shirt,
you
can
also
preserve
it
by
spraying
it
with
vinegar
and
then
ironing
it
before
you
wash
it.
We
suggest
wearing
clothes
and
shoes
that
you
don’t
mind
getting
color
on.
Will
the
color
get
in
my
car?
Bring
a
towel
or
some
plastic
bags
along,
and
you’ll
be
just
fine.
However,
if
you
do
get
some
in
your
vehicle,
it
can
be
dusted
away
or
vacuumed
easily.
