The Star Chart is created around the four key areas of the  Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020  http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/technology/lrpt/ The four areas are scored yearly and classified on the STaR Chart in order to gauge the incorporation of technology

Teaching and Learning, Content Area Connections: Teachers will begin to use software programs to  deliver their lessons on a daily basis. They will  also begin to incorporate educational websites  into their lessons.
Educator Preparation and Development, Professional Development Experiences: Embedded in-service opportunities to  expand teachers’ familiarity with technology  applications. These opportunities need to be  offered on a monthly basis during the teacher’s  conference periods. Also the Professional  Development sessions need to student  centered oriented.
Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support, Budget: Administrators will model use of technology  during in-service meetings. All teachers need to  be equipped with a laptop or Mac book.  Computer labs need to be updated with cutting  edge digital tools to offer our students 21 st   century training. Internet filters need to be  relaxed so that our students and teachers can  take advantage of you tube and blogspot.
Infrastructure for Technology: The campus needs updated to a wireless  network. All computers in the building need to  be equipped with Microsoft Office Suite.
If the district,  administration, and staff collaborate, we can together as a team implement these proposals. Then our campus will begin to demonstrate the skills necessary to bring about a change in out Texas Star Chart classification status.
