The Business of Tennis - Specific Tips on How to Grow your Tennis Programtbainton
Any good tennis player is able to adjust their strategy and think creatively to win the match… The same is true in the ‘game’ of business – if we applied these skills to what we have learned about playing competitive tennis to our business, then we will increase longevity and capture more widespread attention, thus creating better systems of sustainability.

Tennis is an outstanding sport with a low risk of injury. However there are real risks of injury and this presentation was provided to Tennis Teaching professionals to guide them in developing an injury prevention program.
GEOVISUALIZING SPATIO-TEMPORAL PATTERNS IN TENNISDamien Demaj
Traditional methods for summarizing tennis matches have long ignored the spatio-temporal component of the match, and often fail to geovisualize patterns by way of map or graphic. This presentation presents alternative approaches to post-match analysis using geospatial data analysis with a Geographical Information System (GIS). A case study focusing on the spatial variation of serving from the London Olympics Gold Medal match, where Andy Murray defeated Roger Federer 6-2, 6-1, 6-4, is conducted. By mapping the relationship between space and time, we were able to visually and statistically quantify that Federer served with more spatial variation during the match. Murray, however, served with greater spatial variation at key points during the match. Results suggest that there is potential to better understand players serve tendencies using spatio-temporal analysis. The importance of such analysis for coaches, players, fans and the media to further explore player tactics and strategies are discussed.

’ve been doing Parkrun for a year now. Yes, I’m one of those crazy people that get up early every saturday morning and run 5 Kms with 166490 parkrunners across 20 countries and 1637 locations. After a while, something interesting happened, I was asked to explain estimation to a group of people new to agile ways of working and found that I could explain relative estimation by using my Parkrun experience with my friends.
The requirement is the same – run a distance of 5 kms. However, the time taken will vary widely between runners. Even though the parkrun is a set 5kms, it takes our whole group to finish anywhere between 20 – 55 mins. So why don’t we all finish at the same time? Well, there are a number of factors to consider including our fitness, age, equipment and expertise at running as well as the complexity of the course. The same is true with estimations for work products. There is natural variability between estimates by people based on context, team members capability and so forth.
As a Professional Scrum Trainer (PST), I have found Parkrun anecdotes a relatable way to explain some complex concepts such as velocity, pairing, relative estimation, sprinting, sustainable pace and more. This presentation is for people wanting to understand agile principles as it will share these and other training tips and techniques that you can use with your teams.

Linköping University has several student kitchens all over its campuses where students are given a possibility to warm their food. Critics claim that there are too few student kitchens and that the existing ones are usually overcrowded. That all kitchens are overcrowded at the same time has not been confirmed by sample inspections. One standing hypothesis is that students do not know where all the kitchens are, nor do they want to risk going to a kitchen in another building in case it is full as well.
The aim of this project is to develop a system that will provide the students with information regarding student kitchen usage. The system uses an computer vision approach, estimating the number of people currently using the kitchens. The system was developed using C++, the OpenCV library and the Qt5 library.

Mehrsan Javan, Co-founder and CTO of Sportlogiq, presents the “Computer Vision in Sports: Scalable Solutions for Downmarket Leagues” tutorial at the May 2023 Embedded Vision Summit.
Sports analytics is about observing, understanding and describing the game in an intelligent manner. In practice, this requires a fully automated, robust end-to-end pipeline, spanning from visual input, to player and group activities, to player and team evaluation to planning. Despite major advancements in computer vision and machine learning, today sports analytics solutions are limited to top leagues and are not widely available for downmarket leagues and youth sports.
In this talk, Javan explains how his company has developed scalable and robust computer vision solutions to democratize sport analytics and offer pro-league-level insights to leagues with modest resources, including youth leagues. He highlights key challenges—such as the requirement for low-cost, low-latency processing and the need for robustness despite variations in venues. He discusses the approaches Sportlogiq tried and how it ultimately overcame these challenges, including the use of transformers and fusion of multiple type of data streams to maximize accuracy.

Handheld GPS-triggered location-based devices seem ideal for outdoor heritage sites. In this age of economic strain, they may be able to attract new audiences and draw existing audiences to return more often. But what do we really know about how these devices impact visitor experience and learning? Which segments of our audience do they actually appeal to? Can heritage institutions with limited financial and human resources develop these types of projects sustainably? To find out, between November 2007 and July 2008, Parks Canada staff developed and launched three handheld GPS-triggered tours. The process of developing the tours was monitored closely throughout the 8-month development period, and feedback gathered from team members and other staff. Then during the two-month pilot period, over 1000 visitors used the devices; regular feedback was provided by both users and staff.
The project had many positive outcomes, including recommendations for streamlining the development process and product delivery, a better understanding of the target audience, and suggestions for improving the usability and effectiveness of the devices.

Narrated Business Proposal for the Philadelphia Eaglescamrynascott12
Slide 1:
Welcome, and thank you for joining me today. We will explore a strategic proposal to enhance parking and traffic management at Lincoln Financial Field, aiming to improve the overall fan experience and operational efficiency. This comprehensive plan addresses existing challenges and leverages innovative solutions to create a smoother and more enjoyable experience for our fans.
Slide 2:
Picture this: It’s a crisp fall afternoon, driving towards Lincoln Financial Field. The atmosphere is electric—tailgaters grilling, fans in Eagles jerseys creating a sea of green and white. The air buzzes with camaraderie and anticipation. You park, join the throng, and make your way to your seat. The stadium roars as the Eagles take the field, sending chills down your spine. Each play is a thrilling dance of strategy and skill. This is what being an Eagles fan is all about—the joy, the pride, and the shared experience.
Slide 3:
But now, the day is marred by frustration. The excitement wanes as you struggle to find a parking spot. The congestion is overwhelming, and tempers flare. The delays mean you miss the pre-game excitement, the tailgate camaraderie, and even the opening kick-off. After the game, the joy of victory or the shared solace of defeat is overshadowed by the stress of navigating out of the parking lot. The gridlock, honking horns, and endless waiting drain the energy and joy from what should have been an unforgettable experience.
Our proposal aims to eliminate these frustrations, ensuring that from arrival to departure, your experience is extraordinary. Efficient parking and smooth traffic flow are key to maintaining the high spirits and excitement that make game days special.
Slide 4:
The Philadelphia Eagles are not just a premier NFL team; they are an integral part of the community, hosting games, concerts, and various events at Lincoln Financial Field. Our state-of-the-art stadium is designed to provide a world-class experience for every attendee. Whether it's the thrill of game day, the excitement of a live concert, or the camaraderie of community events, we pride ourselves on delivering a fan-first experience and maintaining operational excellence across all our activities. Our commitment to our fans and community is unwavering, and we continuously strive to enhance every aspect of their experience, ensuring they leave with unforgettable memories.
Slide 5:
Recent trends show an increasing demand for efficient event logistics. Our customer feedback has consistently highlighted frustrations with parking and traffic. Surveys indicate that a significant number of fans are dissatisfied with the current parking situation. Comparisons with other venues like Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center reveal that we lag in terms of parking efficiency and convenience. These insights underscore the urgent need for innovation to meet and exceed fan expectations.
