The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is an opportunity to coordinate care among health care providers and transform local nets into seamless systems of care. The study conducted by Dr. Annette Gardner, PhD, MPH, at the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies, UCSF, shows safety net integration activities in five counties—Contra Costa, Humboldt, San Diego, San Joaquin, and San Mateo—suggests much progress has been made to this end in these counties.
This Report describes the factors that affect a local safety net's ability to develop integrated delivery systems and lessons learned from the implementation of 30 safety net integration "best practices".

INTEGRATION OF TELEHEALTH WITH BEHAVIORAL HEALTH IN 2022 cap.pptxkumarB54
Behavioral healthcare is becoming more and more focused due to the need for attending to one's mental health has increased with the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The pandemic showed people how their mental health can be affected overnight if not tended to properly. This increased access to behavioral health over the last few years. This in turn opened opportunities for more practices to integrate behavioral services with many healthcare platforms which helps the related patients.
Healthcare these days is very much digitalized. Telehealth bridges the gaps between healthcare providers and patients. The majority of the services are automated so that both the providers and the patients benefit from their use.
Telehealth refers to the healthcare services provided through virtual means. This allows one to reach and communicate with their healthcare providers safely and quickly by using simple telecommunication techniques. Such as telephonic chats, live video calls, health apps, remote patient monitoring, etc.

DQ 3-2Integrated health care delivery systems (IDS) was develope.docxelinoraudley582231
DQ 3-2
Integrated health care delivery systems (IDS) was developed to initiate excellence health care access and quality of care to entire populations and community by collaborating and coordinating diverse healthcare professionals. Main driving force of IDS is patient centered care by using resources such as collaborating care from physicians and allied health care professionals to construct continuum of care, to deliver care in the most cost-effective way, utilize trained and competent providers by utilizing evidenced -based practice and combine innovation such as EHR (Electronic Health Records) system and team work to produce improved healthcare system.
Excellence in care is attainable by incorporating allied healthcare professional, as high quality care is possible when coordination is unified and covers all areas of responsibilities. For an example-combining resources and coordination of care by involving physicians, dietitian, physical therapy or occupational therapy to work with patient diagnosed with obesity by promoting teamwork approach and ultimately delivering endurance in care and utilizing various resources.
Barriers to IDS can be a huge block in delivering quality care. Among many one limitation is physicians not participating in integrated healthcare system, which disconnect physicians from team based approached by deterring continuous quality improvement (essentialhospitals.org, n.d). This is because, system such as EHR or new innovative quality assurance programs are time consuming and overwhelming, thus decline in physicians support in IDS programs. By implementing user friendly system approach, enforcing focused based care and accepting the necessity of evidenced based practice can improve these barriers. Hence, increasing clinical expertise to produce better service and quality of care in integrated delivery system.

In the US, there is not one type of health care system but rather a subset of systems, some of them catering to specific populations. These subsystems include managed care, military, and vulnerable populations. Managed care is a health care delivery system that seeks to achieve efficiency by integrating the basic functions of health care delivery, employs mechanisms to control utilization of medical services, and determines the price at which the services are purchased and how much the providers get paid, military health care system is available free of charge to active duty military personnel and covers preventative and treatment services that are provided by salaried health care personnel and this system combines public health with medical services, and vulnerable population subsystem offers comprehensive medical and enabling services targeted to the needs of vulnerable populations and government health insurance programs provide.

After reading the report on services in Georgia, write a short paper.docxADDY50
After reading the report on services in Georgia, write a short paper that provides a summary of what it says. Explain how a market analysis was accomplished, how this information was used to determine the outcome of existing services, and how it was used to design services. Then provide an opinion on how this information could be useful in advocating for expansion of services.
Executive Summary
This report details the results of a mixed-method community outreach effort conducted by the Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) as part of The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s Champions for Children with Exceptional Needs Initiative (Champions).
The purpose of this outreach effort is (1) to provide a systematic examination of the existing gaps in service and support for families with medically fragile and special needs children in Georgia and (2) to compile a list of service delivery options gathered from the community outreach efforts that could be provided to families through the funding of an appropriate nonprofit or network of nonprofits across Georgia. The report will be shared with The Community Foundation and the Champions Advisory Committee to guide them in the distribution of at least $2.2 million that has been appropriated by the Georgia Legislature to meet the needs of this population.
Data collection for the Initiative used both quantitative and qualitative approaches to explore the experience of families with special needs and medically fragile children. The quantitative component included a Medicaid claims analysis of children eligible for the Katie Beckett Waiver program during Calendar Year 2005. The qualitative data collection methods for the community outreach effort included:
Three focus groups with parents of special needs and medically fragile children;
Sixteen Key Informant interviews with parents, advocates, representatives from local and
state-wide non-profit agencies and medical providers;
Two community forums structured to present data collected in the needs assessment and
outreach and gather suggestions/feedback from community members regarding possible service delivery models.
Medicaid Claims Analysis
Findings from the Medicaid claims analysis of children who received services through the Katie Beckett Waiver program in 2005 exemplify the needs of many medically-fragile children in Georgia. In Calendar Year 2005 (CY2005), there were 6,572 children enrolled in Medicaid through the Katie Beckett class of assistance. The descriptive analysis of the Katie Beckett enrollees found that:
95% (6,130) of the Katie Beckett children submitted at least one Medicaid claim during the year. The top two diagnoses, specific delays in development and psychoses with origin specific to childhood (infantile autism, disintegrative psychosis and schizophrenia) comprise 28% of all the outpatient claims.
The average Medicaid reimbursement per Katie Beckett recipient was $5,033 in CY2005. The services that Medicaid paid .

Greater Interoperability in Healthcare 2022: Data & TechnologyInferscience
Inferscience offers the best HCC medicare risk adjustment services in Newton, MA. Inferscience has taken advantage of these new wider rules to expand functionality. Inferscience’s proprietary technology can extract clinical data from any web-based EHR and standardize it. The data can be made available to any application via API. It is the expectation that expanding functionality with these types of features will at the end of the day benefit providers and patients as well. The most important consideration, therefore, for the continuing success of this road map is for all interest groups to participate with attentiveness and intentionality. Because in the end, collaboration is the key to greater interoperability in healthcare.

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection
MANAGEMENT OF ATRIOVENTRICULAR CONDUCTION BLOCK.pdfJim Jacob Roy
Cardiac conduction defects can occur due to various causes.
Atrioventricular conduction blocks ( AV blocks ) are classified into 3 types.
This document describes the acute management of AV block.
Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.
The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system
It is a walnut-sized gland that forms part of the male reproductive system and is located in front of the rectum and just below the urinary bladder
Function is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes 10-30% of the volume of the seminal fluid that along with the spermatozoa, constitutes semen
A healthy human prostate measures (4cm-vertical, by 3cm-horizontal, 2cm ant-post ).
It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It has anterior, median, posterior and two lateral lobes
It’s work is regulated by androgens which are responsible for male sex characteristics
Generalised disease of the prostate due to hormonal derangement which leads to non malignant enlargement of the gland (increase in the number of epithelial cells and stromal tissue)to cause compression of the urethra leading to symptoms (LUTS
