Outernet Inc is a global broadcast data start-up currently being incubated by the Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF), a United States-based impact investment fund and non-profit organization established in 1995 by Saša Vučinić and Stuart Auerbach. Outernet's goal is to provide free access to content from the web through geostationary and Low Earth Orbit satellites, made available effectively to all parts of the world.
The project uses datacasting and User Datagram Protocol through both small satellites, such as CubeSats, and larger, more conventional geostationary communications satellites in a satellite constellation network. Wi-Fi enabled devices would communicate with the satellite hotspots, which receive data broadcasts from satellites.

Commission on Travel Demand Shared Mobility Inquiry Evidence Session 1CREDSUK
The Commission on Travel Demand is an expert group established as part of CREDS (Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions) to explore how to reduce the energy and carbon emissions associated with transport.
16 July, Royal Automobile Club
The fourth evidence session covered both the context in which the shared mobility inquiry sits and the policy options which could be deployed to accelerate sharing and other wider initiatives which they might connect to.

The Illuminating Journey of Lucent Technologies.docxgreendigital
Introduction:
In the dynamic landscape of technological evolution. certain entities stand out as beacons of innovation. shaping the way we communicate and connect. Among these trailblazers, Lucent Technologies has left an indelible mark on the world of telecommunications. This article delves into the unique journey of Lucent Technologies, tracing its roots. highlighting its groundbreaking contributions. and exploring the impact it has had on the ever-evolving realm of connectivity.
Origins and Evolution:
Lucent Technologies was born out of the famed American multinational telecommunications giant, AT&T. In 1996, AT&T underwent a monumental transformation. splitting its operations into three separate entities. Lucent Technologies emerged as one of these entities. focusing on telecommunications equipment and systems. The name "Lucent" derived from the Latin word "lucentes," meaning "to shine" or "to illuminate. reflecting the company's mission to illuminate the world through cutting-edge technology.
Pioneering Technologies:
From its start, Lucent Technologies set out to redefine the boundaries of communication technologies. One of its groundbreaking contributions was in the field of fiber optics. Lucent played a pivotal role in the development of fiber-optic communication systems. enabling the transmission of data at unprecedented speeds over long distances. This innovation revolutionized the telecommunications industry. laying the foundation for the high-speed, data-centric world we live in today.
The Rise of Mobile Communications:
Lucent Technologies was at the forefront of the mobile communications revolution. playing a crucial role in the development and deployment of wireless technologies. As the demand for mobile connectivity surged. Lucent's expertise in wireless infrastructure became significant. The company's innovations in mobile networking laid the groundwork for the transition from traditional analog cellular networks to advanced digital systems. paving the way for the 3G and 4G eras.
CDMA Technology:
One of Lucent's key contributions to mobile communications was in the development of Code Division Many Access (CDMA) technology. CDMA, a digital cellular technology, allowed for more efficient use of available bandwidth. resulting in improved call quality and increased capacity for mobile networks. Lucent's role in advancing CDMA technology played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of mobile communication standards.
Challenges and Restructuring:
While Lucent Technologies enjoyed considerable success during its early years. the turn of the century brought challenges. The dot-com bubble burst, impacting the telecommunications industry, and Lucent faced financial difficulties. The company went through a series of restructuring efforts . and leadership changes to adapt to the evolving market conditions.
Acquisition by Alcatel:
In 2006, Lucent Technologies merged with the French telecommunications company Alcatel to form Alca
In the era of technology and innovation, one thing which is everywhere is the Internet. It has become an inevitable part of our lives, which can help in accessing all the content around the globe. It helps in staying connected, reaching technology, gathering information, giving visibility, etc very smoothly with the ease of doing it all anywhere we want. But despite being such an old invention, still many people are deprived of it. This paper focusses on various techniques and initiatives taken to make the internet available to all and also the existing techniques are discussed in detail.
