While the dichotomy of native vs non-native within our profession had its (unfortunate and unquestioned) day, the distinction between the two is often blurry and needless. Absolute statements, once the argument for hiring only native speakers, are increasingly invalid. In this talk, we’ll move through the maze of irrelevant distinctions, move away from dead ends, and move towards an understanding of a way to determine the best teacher for the student.
