Masaba Gupta is one of India's most promising young designers. She had her big break at age 19 when she took designer Wendell Roderick's advice to exhibit her first collection, called "Katran," at Lakme Fashion Week, inspiring by the styles of women she saw on the streets of Mumbai. She has since created edgy yet ethnic designs that have been worn by many Bollywood stars, and at a young age became the youngest Creative Director of Satya Paul. Her quirky feminine silhouettes use organic fabrics and vibrant colors, and her latest collection was inspired by the Masai tribes of Tanzania.

translates to leftover cloth, inspired by the ingenious style of the women Gupta spotted on
Mumbai's streets, proved to be her big breakShe was the youngest designer to showcase at
WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK 2010.With her talent undeniable, she can now boast of
being the youngest Creative Director in India as she takes on the role at Satya Paul.The designer
has created a name for herself with her edgy yet ethnic creations that have been sported by a
number of Bollywood beauties.
The young designer has been successful in making an impact in the fashion scene with her
quirky, yet feminine drapes and silhouettes. Masaba prefers organic fabrics enhancing them
with classic weaves, patchwork and vibrant colours.But according to Masaba, she got into
fashion by 'sheer fluke'!!In LFW Summer/Resort 2011 she has shown collection inspired from
the Masai tribes of Tanazania. She named the collection 'Straight from my soil'.Masaba's style is
fierce & bold with a strong play of color and cut, but traditionally rooted.
