This document discusses a citizen science and earth observation project in Africa. It aims to address societal challenges like logging and grazing disputes by combining citizen science and earth observation data. An app will be prototyped to allow citizens to flag queries from satellite data that need ground-truthing, and to flag on-the-ground observations that should be examined using earth observation data over time. The app will integrate satellite maps, OpenStreetMap, and other data layers. It will have an end-user interface that is extendable and configurable. The team working on this project includes members from various African countries who will participate in activities like webinars and discussions to develop the app and innovation dynamics.
