Team 15 attempted to evaluate performance of the Weather Research & Forecasting (WRF) software on a remote supercomputing cluster larger than their own, in order to take advantage of additional resources. However, they faced significant challenges due to time differences causing delayed responses, an initial job rejection, and an immediate shutdown once accepted. In the end, they were only able to use 192 of the 256 available cores and concluded that remote HPC experiments require 24/7 staff support and awareness of holidays in different countries.
