I have extensive experience in education as a high school Science teacher and an adjunct professor of Chemistry.
Throughout the majority of my teaching career I have taught in marginalized communities and worked extensively
with minority populations. I am trained in multicultural teaching practices and teaching using multiple modalities.
My experience has allowed me to learn how to adapt to various cultures, situations, and classroom needs.
Furthermore, my teaching experience had taught me how to be flexible, as well as innovative and creative, without
sacrificing educational rigor or ignoring cultural sensitivities. More than once I have adapted and written
curriculum to meet national and state curriculum standards, while still maintaining the interests of my population.
I have pursued my own personal science education beyond the classroom, as well as my own personal education,
having completed my PhD. in education from Walden University in December, 2015.
What I can bring to the workplace:
• A long history of education experience, highlighted by many years of working in highly multicultural
settings and communities.
• Extensive experience with developing and designing curriculums that reflects a deep understanding for
multicultural perspectives and needs, combined with a need for a rigorous academic base.
• Flexibility, the ability to adapt to most all circumstances, loyalty, and a strong work ethic.
• Extensive knowledge of Science as it is applied and practiced in the workplace and in Academia
