The teacher induction program in Seoul has three parts: 1) a pre-employment training program conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Education Center that lasts two weeks and covers school curriculum, student guidance, and class management; 2) a post-employment mentoring program conducted by individual schools; and 3) a two-week follow-up training program after the first year conducted by district offices of education focusing on reflection, student evaluation, and understanding local communities. The overall goal is to help new teachers successfully transition into their roles.
