Digital content can significantly improve student learning by efficiently demonstrating concepts through novel representations. It can amplify a teacher's ability to make aspects of concepts salient that are otherwise difficult to explicitly show. To fully utilize digital content's potential, teachers must have a deep integrated understanding of their content, students, and the constraints of the digital tools. Careful consideration of how digital content structures learning opportunities and relates to students' abilities is important.
