Task Force Marshall trains Navy personnel and soldiers at Fort Jackson, South Carolina to prepare them for deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan. The training involves 90 warrior tasks over 3 weeks for sailors and 2 weeks for soldiers. Since 2004, they have trained over 20,000 sailors and soldiers. The training, led by Army Reserve drill sergeants, aims to attune sailors to Army culture and provide combat skills like weapons handling and convoy operations that sailors may not normally receive in their Navy training. Trainees work long hours in realistic scenarios culminating in a convoy training exercise to closely mimic deployment conditions.
