What is it all about?
– The music video is about a girl being in love with her
mothers tennis coach, she stalks him and takes pictures of
him without no one knowing him. Her mother is convinced
that she is being courted by the tennis coaches son who is
the same age as the girl and goes to the same high school.
– All along it looks like she is taking pictures with the son of
the tennis coach but at the end the pictures reveal the
tennis coach and his son feels betrayed.
Purpose
– ‘Colors’ is the 6th
song on Halsey’s debut album Badlands.
– It was made in order to introduce her as an artist to the
audience . One of the officials quotes say ‘’Badlands feel so
ripped from her personal journey that you instantly
connect with her freedom and vulnerability’’
Style
– Genre of music: It is an electropop genre which is a style of
music pop music that is characterised by the use of
electronically made sounds which mainly uses a
synthesiser to record music that has a variety of electro
sounds that are pre-recorded on a synthesiser and may
also use additional accessories to support the recording.
– Content of the music video : live action because it uses
real people.
Form of video
– The narrative is linear because the story includes plot,
characters, settings, climax and resolution.
– It is presented in a logical manner telling what happens fro
one point to the next without using flashbacks.
– It is an interpretive piece because the audience have to
interpret the meaning till the end which alludes the
audience as it hints on resolution without directly showing
it.
