DISTOS SourceOps Framework
Agile Methods
Task 1 Focus on customer value via constant business-driven prioritization of features and
regular customer feedback
Task 2 Manage uncertainty and risk through evolutionary (iterative and incremental)
product development
Task 3 Utilize intense collaboration and feedback via maximum face-to-face
communication (we use Google Hangouts and WFH, but are paired all day screen
sharing on reserved extra monitors for each other)
Paired Hacks
Task 4 Unleash team members’ creativity and productivity through cadence and proper
pacing
Task 5 Deliver high quality through CI/CD (continuous improvement and continuous
development cycles)
Task 6 Facilitate learning and adaptation to change via practices like team retrospectives
Paired Data Study
Task A
(Scope)
Clear business results (total # of prospects sourced within X time, etc.) are delivered
regularly by chunking projects into equal-sized iterations (also called Sourcing
Sprints) that typically last one to four weeks - Paired blocks Playlist (client calendar)
into 2 week cycles.
Task B
(Learn)
We've learned 3 big things. Agility (or sourcing pace as a pair) has been our #1 key
to success! Agility is the ability to create and adapt to change
Task C
(Iterate)
James and I (Jer) have sourced over 100,000 prospects since starting our boutique
sourcing firm nearly 2 years ago.
Task D
(Implement)
Each iteration/sprint is like a miniature project of its own, and includes all the tasks
necessary to release the mini-increment of new functionality. At the end of each
iteration, the team reevaluates project priorities.
Scrum (our choice) is an agile method for project management, and it has been
documented to dramatically improve productivity in teams.
