3. INTRODUCTION
Technology has become a big part of how we
learn in school. It includes things like
computers, tablets, and the internet. These
tools help us learn in new and exciting ways.
For example, instead of just reading from a
book, we can watch videos or play educational
games. This makes learning more fun and
interesting.
Another thing about it is that it helps us to
work together. We can share our ideas and
projects with classmates online. We can even
get feedback from our teachers without
having to be in the same room.

TWO ASPECTS OF EDUCATIONAL
TECHNOLOGY

5. ASPECTS OF EDUCATIONAL
TECHNOLOGY
“ Technology of education “
• The technology of education means how all the gadgets and tools we use in
schools.
• Refers to the tools, methods, and systems used to enhance learning and
teaching in schools. This includes things like computers, educational software,
online learning platforms, and other digital resources designed to support and
improve the educational process.
• Also about how they change the rules, the way schools are set up, and the
different ways we teach students.

6. ASPECTS OF EDUCATIONAL
TECHNOLOGY
“ Technology in education “
•Focuses on using existing technology in educational settings, regardless of its
original purpose.
•Think of it as applying any technology to enhance learning, like using tablets for
reading books, watching educational videos online, or using social media for group
projects.
•It's like the classroom where teachers and students use the different tools available.

7. Main Difference Between:
Technology of Education & Technology in Education
The Technology of Education, also referred to as Educational Technology, encourages the use of
technology to enhance the process of learning of the current school curriculum. On the
other hand, technology in education (TechEd) focuses on learning how technology works.

8. Efficiency and Effectiveness in Education: Technology aims to enhance education by
increasing efficiency (quick acquisition of knowledge) and effectiveness (operational
mastery of imparted knowledge).
Methods of Technology Implementation:
Removal of Physical Barriers: Technology enables distance learning, facilitating
access to education regardless of geographical location.
Transition from Knowledge Retention to Utilization: Emphasis shifts from
memorization to skill application through multimedia, simulations, and databases.
Benefits for Teachers:
Access to professional development and networking opportunities beyond physical
boundaries.
Use of technology like Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS) for job-related
assistance and skill development.

9. Benefits for Students:
Enhanced learning experiences through multimedia and simulations.
Access to diverse resources and support systems via technology.
Shift in Learning Objectives: From memorization to skill acquisition and utilization,
facilitated by searchable databases and blended learning approaches.
Future Prospects: Technology will continue to play a significant role in education,
removing barriers to learning and emphasizing skill-based performance over
knowledge retention.

13. FUTURE PROSPECTS IN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
Centralizing professional development delivery to maximize efficiency.
Shifting assessments towards skill mastery over memorization.
Embracing problem-based learning to prepare students for real-world
scenarios.
Accelerating technological trends to enhance learning effectiveness.
Continued development and support for technologies like distributed
learning systems.

14. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, technology is super important in education. It's
breaking down barriers and making learning easier for teachers and
students. By using tools like online learning and databases, it's
helping everyone learn better. Plus, it fits well with how we already
think about teaching and learning. Other fields, like business and
healthcare, are also using technology for learning, showing its wide-
reaching benefits. Moving forward, we should focus on making online
learning better for both teachers and students, creating cool software
for learning, and improving information systems. By doing this, we
can make education even better for everyone.
