Local governments are expanding broadband access by investing in and partnering on broadband infrastructure. The Institute for Local Self-Reliance focuses on issues like local banking, decentralized energy, recycling, and telecommunications as a commons. Many approaches to expanding broadband access are already happening in Minnesota, including partnerships with cooperatives, multi-town joint efforts, wireless networks, and full fiber networks to homes and businesses.
