Therefore this paper will discuss about the types and effects of vegetation and the water elements might cause on the building. The Royal Selangor Club of Kuala Lumpur has been chosen as our case study. From the site observation, a lot of defects related to the vegetations and water elements occurred on the building. It reflects the level of maintenance or awareness of the owner towards the buildings. Effects of vegetation and water elements on the building have been recognized and several methods to rectify the problems have been suggested .
