Property Information ZONING:  IROM FUTURE LAND USE:  Industrial This applicant had previously requested an antenna on a property immediately south of I-595.  The new location is west of SW 26 Terrace.  This site is south of Sun Recycling and is currently vacant, although a site plan is approved for the site.  The proposed location will eliminate some parking spaces and required landscaping from the previously approved DJP site plan & may interfere with the proposed dumpster enclosure at the north east corner of the property.  The property owner has submitted a letter indicating that he is aware that locating the antenna at this location will require a site plan modification.
 
Special Exception To allow a new telecommunication tower to be constructed.  The proposed mechanical equipment will be approximately 25 – 30’ from SW 26 Terrace.  The tower will appear as a flag pole in an  effort to hide the antennas.  Lighting to  illuminate the flag has not been provided by  the applicant. The tower and associated equipment will be  enclosed with landscaping and an 8’ tall wall  finished matching the proposed building and  opaque access gate.  The applicant has indicated that more than  one user will be utilizing the structure and  therefore is requesting the 100’ height.

Planning and Zoning Board Previous Action On December 16, 2009 the Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval of the special exception request. Staff Recommendation Approval, provided the application obtains written approval from FAA regarding the location and height of the proposed antenna prior to issuance of a building permit.
