This document summarizes research conducted in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India on HIV/AIDS vulnerability among married women. The researcher interviewed local organizations and found that while reported HIV incidence was decreasing among traditional high-risk groups, the number of HIV positive married women was increasing significantly. All female survey respondents reported being infected by their husbands. The researcher's future research plans to examine married couples as a risk unit for HIV transmission, challenging assumptions that high-risk groups are only sex workers, drug users, and men who have sex with men.
