Introduction
A shape is said to have symmetry if both parts
match exactly when folded.
A triangle has only
one line of symmetry.
A square has four
lines of symmetry.
You can develop your skills in pattern-making
by creating a mirror image of a shape.
A shape has turning or rotational symmetry if,
after the shape is turned, it matches the
original shape.
This shape turned 90˚ has turning
symmetry. It has matched the
original.
This shape does not have turning
symmetry.
