2. INTRODUCTION
Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to computer systems
capable of performing complex tasks that historically only
a human could do, such as reasoning, making decisions,
or solving problems
3. AI USED IN AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR FOR
Autonomous driving system
ADAS technology
Adaptive cruise control system
Lane keep assist system
V2V communication technology
AI based vehicle monitoring system
5G technology in autonomous vehicle
Matrix headlight system
4. AUTONOMOUS DRIVING SYSTEM
An autonomous car is a vehicle capable of sensing its
environment and operating without human involvement.
A human passenger is not required to take control of
the vehicle at any time, nor is a human passenger
required to be present in the vehicle at all.
An autonomous car can go anywhere a traditional car
goes and do everything that an experienced human
driver does.
6. Apple, Tesla, and Waymo (owned by parent company
Google Alpha bet) have tested the Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE) level 4 feature for autonomous cars
known as “sleeping driver”
Companies, like Waymo and Aptiv, already oper ate
Smartphone-controlled, autonomous level 5 “robo-taxi”
services in places like San Francisco and California.
Waymo uses Laser-based light detection and ranging
which can solve the navigation problems of autonomous
self-driving

12. ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is a system designed to
help vehicles maintain a safe following distance and stay
within the speed limit. This system adjusts a car's speed
automatically
ACC functions by sensory technology installed within
vehicles such as cameras, lasers, and radar equipment,
which creates an idea of how close one car is to another,
or other objects on the roadway.
These sensory technologies allow the car to detect and
warn the driver about potential forward collisions.

16. LANE KEEP ASSIST SYSTEM
Lane keeping assist uses a video camera to detect the
lane markings ahead of the vehicle and to monitor the
vehicle's position in its lane. If the vehicle’s distance to
the lane markings falls below a defined minimum, the
system steps in.
In vehicles with electric power steering, it gently, but
noticeably counter steers in order to keep the vehicle in
the lane. In vehicles without electric power steering, it
achieves the same effect by utilizing the electronic
stability program (ESP) to brake individual wheels.

20. V2V COMMUNICATION
V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) is a communication technique
that aids in crash avoidance.
Which are wireless networks that allow vehicles to
communicate and share information about their driving
habits.
The data comprises speed, geo location, braking,
stability, and travel direction.

23. AI BASED VEHICLE MONITORING SYSTEM
There are various means of monitoring traffic situations on
roads. Due to the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) based
image processing technology, there is a growing interest in
developing traffic monitoring systems using camera vision
data.
This method for deriving traffic information using a camera
installed at an intersection to improve the monitoring system
for roads. The method uses a deep-learning-based approach
for image processing for vehicle detection and vehicle type
classification.
Lane-by-lane vehicle trajectories are estimated by matching
the detected vehicle locations with the high-definition map
(HD map). Based on the estimated vehicle trajectories, the

26. 5G TECHNOLOGY IN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE
The foundations for autonomous
driving are fast and reliable
communication networks,
such as 4G and 5G
One huge benefit of 5G is what
is known as network slicing.
The wireless network is subdivided into virtual network
levels.
One network level is then used only for automated
driving, for instance.
27. This ensures that safety-relevant notifications to self-
driving cars will not end up in a traffic jam on the data
highway and will be given priority over other
infotainment services used in parallel.
In initial 5G tests on the Audi A9 freeway between
Nuremberg and Munich, latencies of less than 20
milliseconds were achieved.
An autonomous car driving at a speed of 100 km/h
would have traveled a mere 60 centimeters in that time.
The virtual network levels and short transmission paths
guarantee important quality features of the 5G mobile
technology, such as low latencies and high bandwidths.
28. MATRIX HEADLIGHT SYSTEM
matrix LED headlamps crucially incorporate a digital
micro mirror device (DMD)
This DMD technology, used for video projectors in
cinemas, incorporates 1.3 million micro mirrors, each a
few thousandths of a millimetre long.
29. Chip controlled using data from the A8’s camera and
sensors, each of the tiny mirrors’ angles can be adjusted
up to 5000 times a second.
As a result, the pixels of light can be masked or shone in
a vast array of directions.
Audi says lamps no longer generate a static beam but
act like a continuously regenerating digital image
34. CONCLUSION
AI has many advantages in the automotive industry.
AI can improve customer satisfaction, safety,
performance and efficiency. AI in Automotive
Industry is also used in autonomous driving,
maintenance prediction, and personalization. AI has
so many applications that it’s no surprise the
industry is embracing AI
