The world as we know it is constantly in a state of change and still changing fast. Majority of the changes experienced are not technically bad, however, they have come with diverse rooms for adjustment, and are not suggestive, but necessary if we are to survive the waves of new ones happening around us by the second?. Before now, our distinctive features are what separate us, and pushing us apart, as people, organizations, and as countries (Setyaningrum, 2017). However, these distinctive and unique features have become a strength, bridging the gaps between usus, and causing us to rely and depend on one another (Tran, 2012). Now, as much as the strengths are not new, their discoveries or the potential buried in them are becoming more obvious and showcased for the world to see. This is true in every aspect of life, but more especially in the business and leadership world. One thing difficult to deny is, result. Quality leadership is obvious, and people will gravitate towards them, as we are in a global world where there is visibility, we are able to see leadership with results around us. So also in the business world, businesses are spreading their tentacles even at a faster rate (Setyaningrum, 2017). With the above reasons, we can see that there is a global leadership gap to be field.
Furthermore, global interdependent organizational leadership is an applied topic, as you will see throughout this paper, series of specific and really practicalpractical issues affecting the world at large due to interdependency of our world and organizations. We will also see, some very practical ways to resolve these issues. Designing Flourishing Societies RSD4
Presentation by Peter Jones at RSD4 Banff, Alberta, 2015. Society can be defined as an object of culture, as culture is a medium for the collective development of social systems. Societies are not designed by a deliberative process, but are social entities that emerge over time as response to historicity and cultural development, and function largely by tacit agreement as observed in social norms.
In the 1960’s social systemicists such as Ozbekhan, Fuller, and Doxiadis advocated deliberative civic planning as a normative science for designing sustainable and preferable societies and settlements. Even though their original methodologies of normative planning (Ozbekhan), anticipatory design science (Fuller) and ekistics (Doxiadis) did not gain the results hoped in applications over time, these arguments could be lodged against most systems methodologies. Yet when we consider their views of the human capacity to design future outcomes as a serious social and political project, we in our fragmented polities in the postmodern era might take heed. An argument follows that we, as cultural innovators in our own societies, having access to the wisdom of successful past transitions or redirections, have also failed to motivate and enact changes requisite to our common concerns.
A systemic design approach is proposed toward constructing such idealizations as a necessary initial condition. The approach reconciles wisdom from our sociocultural histories with collaborative design practices of the current era to construct shared pathways to desired and feasible societal futures.

Chapter 4: How do you think planning in today’s organizations compares to planning in an organization 25 years ago? Do you think planning becomes more important or less important in a world where everything quickly changes and crises are a regular part of organizational life? Why?
Today companies must constantly seek competitive advantage without disrupting daily operations. They must be able to adapt quickly and more efficiently to change. In a high technology, instant gratification, fast paced world companies can’t just focus on doing one thing well and make changes slowly. They must be able to adapt to situations quickly and with effective results. They should constantly seek opportunity and be able to identify and capitalize on initiatives (Kotter, 2012).
Companies and organizations are affected by their environment. The external environment affects what happens in the internal environment. The external environment is generally classified as either certain or uncertain and by degree of complexity. As these factors change and increase or decrease in the external environment, the internal environment adapts to these changes. Years ago companies coped with environmental changes by creating “buffer departments.” The purpose of these buffering roles was to absorb the uncertainty from the environment. Many organizations no longer create these buffer departments. They instead allow the core of the company to be exposed. They believe that by doing so they are being more open to the customers or suppliers and not focusing on internal efficiency. This allows the building of closer relationships with suppliers and customers.
A Crisis is defined as a set of circumstances in which institutions or individuals face threats outside of the normal daily routine. The significance of these circumstances vary widely depending to individuals and their coping mechanisms (Drennan, McConnell, & Stark, 2015). The last decade in America has introduced us to many crisis events including 9/11 and hurricane Katrina. These crisis events have made people question the vunerability of our country, as well as, the ability to cope and respond to crisis. Crises can also occur frequently in the business world. The key to correcting these crises is to react quickly and formulate a plan, although I think that planning months in advance is less likely the key to success today. The best plan of action in today’s business world is just to have general idea of what you plan to do with the ability to adapt quickly when necessary.

The Finance Committee presented their report to the Homeless Healthcare Governing Board. The report included:
1) A summary of the HHGB organization structure and responsibilities including the $9.6 million budget with $7.4 million from grants and $2.2 million from government and client sources to serve around 16,000 homeless clients.
2) An analysis of staffing levels and expenditures from fiscal years 2013 to 2015 showing an increase in personnel from 2014 to 2015.
3) Next steps for the committee which include providing quarterly financial reports, reviewing the budget for the upcoming HERSA visit, and establishing a strategic plan for 2016 during a fall 2015 retreat.
