Robotic heart surgery is associated with fewer complications compared to traditional open heart surgery. The rate of stroke after robotic CABG is 0.5%, much lower than the 1.8% rate after open CABG. Patients also recover faster after robotic surgery - they can walk further, have better treadmill endurance, and return to daily activities sooner than after open surgery. The minimally invasive nature of robotic surgery may lead to shorter hospital stays, lower costs, and allow patients to return to work more quickly. As a result, robotic CABG can provide benefits to hospitals, patients, and the healthcare system overall.
