3. SUPERVISING SAFETY
SUPERVISORS/FOREMEN
• Have the primary responsibility to ensure
that the work carried out under their
supervision is carried out in a safe
manner. They will BEFORE starting work.
Attend or give a toolbox talk on the work
to be carried out.
Have the necessary permit (if needed)
Inspect the work crew’s PPE is fit for
purpose (you will be held responsible)
4. SUPERVISORS/FOREMEN
Check that all tools and equipment to
be used are free from defects, certified
and colour coded, as necessary.
Ensure that the crew understand the
work to be carried out.
Restrict access to the area if necessary
(install barricades).
Complete the Step Back Card.
