This document lists black owned businesses that existed in Richmond, Virginia between 1916-1917. It includes dressmakers, a drug store, insurance companies, a pressing parlor, hairdressers, a funeral director, a pharmacy, a grocer, a midwife, and an eating house. It also notes the locations of these businesses and places of historical importance to the black community from that time period, including churches, the Booker T. Washington house, and other landmarks.
