Leadership on Campus
● Emerging Leadership Retreat
○ Recognizing the need to assist students early in their careers at Allegheny, the
Emerging Leaders Retreat (ELR) was created in 1999 to encourage first-year
students to develop leadership skills. It has become a crucial piece of the
leadership program and an excellent stepping-stone for first year students to
get connected with the greater Allegheny community. The overnight retreat
takes place prior to the start of Spring Semester each January. ELR seeks to
equip students with campus resources, peer and professional mentors, and
leadership skills to better guide their college career.

Service Leadership
● Bonner Program
○ Bonner Leaders work with a local agency for 2 years at a 900 hour
commitment or 300 hours during the summer. They are part of the national
AmeriCorps program, receive financial compensation for their commitment
(8-10oo hours/week during the school year) and participate in a leadership
development training series. The Bonner Scholars program follows a similar
framework, throughout a 4-year period. For more information contact Bonner
Program Coordinator Jamie Williams through email or at x5318.
2. ● Allegheny Service Leader Program
○ Over 25 student leaders are matched with an agency of their choice, plan
programs for their agency, and recruit Allegheny volunteers to become
involved. Time commitments are usually 2-5 hours per week. For more
information contact Dave Roncolato through email or at x5318.
● Davies Leader Program
○ Allegheny students are partnered with a local non-profit agency in Meadville.
The goal of the program is to create a lasting impact on the community by
completing a project that encourages students to become involved in their
local community. Davies Leaders work for 8-10 hours/week during the school
year and/or summer in this compensated program. For more information
contact Civic Engagement at x5318
