KUALA LUMPUR , GARDEN CITY OF LIGHTS
THE CAPITAL CITY OF MALAYSIA
THE CITY COVERS AN AREA OF 243 KM2 AND HAS AN ESTIMATED
POPULATION OF 1.7 MILLION AS OF 2015.
KUALA LUMPUR IS THE CAPITAL OF MALAYSIA. ITS MODERN SKY-
LINE IS DOMINATED BY THE 451M-TALL PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS,
A PAIR OF GLASS-AND-STEEL-CLAD SKYSCRAPERS WITH ISLAMIC
MOTIFS. THE TOWERS ALSO OFFER A PUBLIC SKYBRIDGE AND OB-
SERVATION DECK. THE CITY IS ALSO HOME TO BRITISH COLONIAL
-ERA LANDMARKS SUCH AS THE KUALA LUMPUR RAILWAY STATION

A LITTLE HISTORY OF KUALA LUMPUR
KUALA LUMPUR WAS ESTABLISHED IN GOMBAK RIVER IN 1857 (GOMBAK)
AND THE KLANG RIVER (KLANG) INTERCHANGE.
THIS EXPLAINS KUALA LUMPUR'S MALAY NAME (KUALA LUMPUR,
INTENDED FOR THE ORIGIN OF THE MUDDY RIVER).
AT THAT TIME, SELANGOR'S ROYAL FAMILY, RADJA ABDULLAH (RAJA

THE LOCAL CHINESE AFFAIRS.
ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS CHINESE KAPITAN IS YAP AH LOY. IN OTHER
WORDS, KUALA LUMPUR ACTUALLY WAS DEVELOPED BY THE CHINESE
MINERS.
KUALA LUMPUR BECAME THE CAPITAL OF THE STATE OF SELANGOR IN
1880. DURING THE WORLD WAR 2, JAPANESE OCCUPIED KUALA LUMPUR
ON JANUARY 11, 1942 FOR 44 MONTHS.
IN 1957, KUALA LUMPUR BECAME THE FIRST CAPITAL FEDERATION OF
M ALAYA.IN 1974, KUALA LUMPUR BECAME A FEDERAL TERRITORY WITH
