2. Peter Rubens has created a piece
which I find quite mysterious with
the subject looking away and the
general tone being quite dark.
The artist has made the colour of
his robes quite bold and
contrasting to the scene which may
have been done to highlight
nobility within the piece.
The subject is looking directly at the
viewer which creates a atmosphere of
power and sternness which really
contrasting to the above piece.
Similar to the above however, Van Dyck
has created a quite harsh and dark tone
however he has highlighted the collar
which is similar to the above piece. I
believe he may have done this to portray
that this person is of nobility and
wealthy

3. Skull is one of the first
examples of anamorphic
projections ever seen.
The skill is thought to be
adams skull which in
paintings depicting
Jesus’s death is found at
the foot of the cross
however in this piece it
is at the forth front with
the cross being placed
behind the curtain on
the right
This may have been
done to show to others
that we are all just
mortal beings and that
we will all die and that
hiding God behind the
things of your life will
not truly satisfy your soul
and life
Hans Holbein has got into so
much detail in this piece and
everything in the painting is
done for a reason.
All the bits represent these
people’s identity, the passions
and the struggles.

4. Lucien Freud sketchbook work
of a girl. It’s drawn in pencil
and very simplistic yet
selective in the marks he
makes, I believe he did this so
he could create bite sized
pieces that are instantly
recognizable.
Lucien Freuds work of a girl
sleeping. With this piece I was
really intrigued by the way that
lucien creates creases and a 3
dimensional sketch with as
before selective and simple
lines.

9. FUTURE PLANS
I plan to try and get an exceptional portfolio place at Central St
Martins “demonstrated by, for example: related academic or
work experience; the quality of the personal statement; a strong
academic or other professional reference; or a combination of
these factors.”
I believe I can get this because I currently have my own startup of
a product I designed and manufacture called “BeaneyBoards”. I
plan to continue this business and start preorders in the next
month.
