Robert Lewis Stevenson was a Scottish author known for works such as Treasure Island, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Kidnapped. He was born in 1850 to a family of lighthouse engineers and believers and had a nanny who influenced his religious beliefs. He fell in love with Fanny Osbourne in 1850 and they married after he traveled to America.
