Reputation snapshot for the banking industry, 2012, finalDamjana Kocjanc
Public attitudes toward banking regulation vary widely across the world, with consumers in developed economies like Europe and North America generally favoring more regulation compared to emerging markets. Globally, consumers believe the top issue banks should address is increased transparency. However, concerns differ in various regions. Support for increased banking regulation correlates strongly with lack of trust in banks. Trust levels also correlate with perceptions of economic confidence, particularly in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Among major global banks, credit card companies have significantly higher trust scores than traditional banks.
This document appears to be a series of slides from a senior thesis presentation about a study on metacognition in EFL readers. The study examined 59 EFL readers' use of metacognitive reading strategies when analyzing an English travel website about Belize. The participants completed a web analysis task and questionnaire assessing their use of global, problem-solving, and support reading strategies. Results showed problem-solving strategies had the highest mean usage. The presentation concludes by discussing using additional methods like eye tracking in future research.
Conducting Remote Task-Based Usability Testing on Your Mobile WebsiteUserZoom
This document summarizes a webinar on conducting remote task-based usability testing on mobile websites. It discusses how to execute an unmoderated remote study using a tool like UserZoom, including defining tasks, scenarios, success criteria, and collecting both quantitative and qualitative data. Benefits of remote testing are that it allows for quick results, is cost-effective, captures users in their natural context, and provides rich insights. Best practices include defining successful outcomes and avoiding leading participant behavior.
How to Master UX Testing in an Agile Design ProcessUserZoom
This document discusses how to integrate user experience (UX) testing into an agile design process. It begins by outlining common myths about agile and UX testing, such as the idea that they are incompatible or that testing requires working code. The document then presents different approaches to testing in an agile context, such as the 3x3 method of testing multiple early concepts, the RITE method of refining one concept faster through iterations, and A/B testing to refine details at the end. It emphasizes removing waste from traditional UX processes and leveraging remote automated user testing to scale usability testing within short agile sprints. Finally, it provides tips for more agile UX testing like defining target metrics for
Tailings systems in mines are often the object of Risk Assessments. Unfortunately common practices in Risk Assessment, using PIGs (Probability Impact Graphs) are arbitrary, lead to confusing and fuzzy results, offer very little decision making support and misrepresent reality. After demonstrating these pitfalls, the presentation shows how to do better by using ORE (Optimum Risk Estimates), a methodology developed by Riskope.
Riskope has developed a proprietary application that allows to package ORE results into cockpits addressing top and mid-management concerns, allowing strategic integration of risks in corporate policies.

The webinar provided an executive summary of a hotel industry UX benchmark study conducted by UserZoom and Key Lime Interactive. Hilton and Marriott were the top two most popular hotel brands according to unaided responses. The study tested the online user experience of finding specific hotel information and booking rooms on Hilton, Marriott, Intercontinental, Sheraton, and Hyatt websites. While Hilton ranked highest on the UX score, all sites led to lower brand perception and net promoter scores after the tasks. Opportunities to improve the UX included providing more relevant rate, room style, and deals information upfront to better meet users' needs when booking travel.

This document discusses using concept maps to improve technical writing skills for computer science majors. It presents research on using different types of concept maps (concept, composition, decision, attribute) to represent various elements of technical documents, including definitions, structures, functions, procedures, and domain-specific sentences. A study was conducted with 22 participants to evaluate their ability to comprehend concept map types and apply them to represent tasks, documents, and technical content. The results provide recommendations for how concept maps can be better integrated into technical writing courses.
This document contains information from R. Ravindra Kumar who is identified as a chief mentor. It provides his contact information including phone numbers, email addresses, and links to search for him on LinkedIn. The document then discusses skills relevant for entrepreneurs such as creativity, strategy, communication, and finance. It also outlines habits that can be considered bad such as negativity, not listening, and failing to express gratitude. Introducing spirituality in the workplace can help improve employee personality types and job performance. There are three main personality types - sattvik, rajasik, and tamasik - each with different characteristics that can influence work philosophy, intentions, attitudes, risk-taking, relationships, and outcomes. Cultivating noble intentions through spiritual values and detaching one's ego from accomplishments can help improve job performance and cultivate peace of mind. Leading with compassion by inspiring others through one's own example is key to effective leadership. Maintaining balance, managing worries and leisure time, and focusing on cultivating qualities like patience, knowledge, and character can help ensure one leads a purposeful and meaningful life.
This document summarizes a study that examined the self-reported use of cognitive, metacognitive, and support reading strategies by Japanese university students when analyzing an English tourism website. Students completed questionnaires assessing their strategy use in three categories: global reading strategies, problem-solving strategies, and support reading strategies. Results showed that problem-solving strategies had the highest reported use, followed by global reading strategies, while support reading strategies had the lowest reported use. There were also significant correlations between students' reported use of different strategies across the three categories, suggesting similar patterns of strategy use. The study provides insight into the reading approaches used by EFL learners when comprehending web-based information in English.
Responders and Assessments Presentationfrewsmhuffman
Student responders allow teachers to collect formative and summative assessment data in real-time through multiple choice, true/false, and other response types. The data provided through student responders gives teachers insights into student understanding and areas needing reteaching. When paired with learning goals, effective feedback from student responders is the second most important school-level factor for student achievement after curriculum. Student responders enable just-in-time adjustments to instruction based on actual student responses rather than assumptions about comprehension.
Cloud BioLinux provides a pre-configured virtual machine on Amazon Web Services that has over 100 bioinformatics tools installed, allowing researchers to perform large-scale genomic data analysis using cloud computing resources without needing local infrastructure or expertise. This virtual machine can be accessed from any internet-connected computer and provides an on-demand computing solution that removes barriers of location, cost, and local computing capabilities. Cloud BioLinux democratizes access to genomic data analysis tools and resources.

Cloud BioLinux provides a pre-configured virtual machine on Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud with over 100 bioinformatics tools installed. This solves the problems that sequence analysis requires computational capacity that small labs may not have, and maintaining bioinformatics software is difficult. Users can access Cloud BioLinux through the EC2 console and launch the virtual machine to perform analysis using the pre-installed tools without having to install or configure any software themselves.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.
