This document summarizes research analyzing visitor flows in the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland using mobile phone data. The objectives are to demonstrate how mobile data can capture tourist movement patterns and how network analysis can help solve tourism problems. The researchers analyze network metrics like density and modularity to identify clusters of attractions. Bow-tie network structures show core, in/out, and transit areas. Modules reveal nuclear-mix patterns of attractions. While focused on one area, the methodology could provide insights into visitor flows if applied to other destinations.

An urban transportation system is crucial to a city's overall development. Having an effective transportation system is crucial to raising the standard of living in urban areas. Effective utilization is crucial due to the transportation network's enormous development costs. Reaching optimal utilization necessitates appropriate connectivity and orientation. Urbanization has led to massive population growth and related activities in many developing countries. Inadequate transportation options and associated travel problems are the result of this. Therefore, developing ways to increase the transport network's efficiency requires a parameter-based evaluation of the network. It involves determining the variables that affect travel as well as the instruments and methods for defining urban features including the land use and transportation system. Research gaps are determined using the literature review as a guide. By recognizing the influences of land use on networks, networks on land use, networks on travel, and once again, networks on travel, the current study offers a paradigm for developing urban transportation networks. Information about land use, zonal boundaries, and the road network was gathered from the appropriate organizations. GIS was used to convert these to digital format.
A major challenge for the next decade is to design virtual and augmented reality systems (VR at large) for real-world use cases such as healthcare, entertainment, e-education, and high-risk missions. This requires VR systems to operate at scale, in a personalized manner, remaining bandwidth-tolerant whilst meeting quality and latency criteria. One key challenge to reach this goal is to fully understand and anticipate user behaviours in these mixed reality settings.
This can be accomplished only by a fundamental revolution of the network and VR systems that have to put the interactive user at the heart of the system rather than at the end of the chain. With this goal in mind, in this talk, we describe our current researches on user-centric systems. First, we describe our view-port based streaming strategies for 360-degree video. Then, we present more in details our research on of users‘ behaviour analysis, when users interact with the 360-degree content. Specifically, we describe a set of metrics that allows us to identify key behaviours among users and quantify the level of similarity of these behaviours. Specifically, we present our clique-based clustering methodology, information theory and trajectory base in-depth analysis. Finally, we conclude with an overview of the extension of this work to navigation within volumetric video sequences.

User Category Based Estimation of Location Popularity using the Road GPS Traj...Waqas Tariq
The mining of the user GPS trajectories and identifying the interesting places have been well studied based on the visitor’s frequency. However, every user is given the same importance in the majority of the trajectory mining methods. In reality, the popularity of the place also depends on the category of the visitor i.e. international vs local visitors etc. We are proposing user category based location popularity estimation using the trajectories databases. It includes mainly three steps. First , pre-processing – the error correction and the graph connection establishment in the road network in order to be able to carry the graph based computations. Second , find the stay regions where the travelers spent some time off-the-road. The visitors can be easily categorized for each POI based on the travel distance from the home location. Finally , normalization and popularity estimation – measure the frequency and stay time of the visitors of each category in the places in question. The weighted sum of the frequency and stay time for each category of the visitors is calculated. The final popularity of the places is computed with values of the pre-configured range. We have implemented and evaluated the proposed method using a large real road GPS trajectory of 182 users that was collected in a period of over three years by Microsoft Asia Research group.
An important measurable indicator of urbanization and its environmental implications has been identified as the urban
impervious surface. It presents a strategy based on three-dimensional convolutional neural networks (3D CNNs) for extracting
urbanization from the LiDAR datasets using deep learning technology. Various 3D CNN parameters are tested to see how they
affect impervious surface extraction. For urban impervious surface delineation, this study investigates the synergistic
integration of multiple remote sensing datasets of Azad Kashmir, State of Pakistan, to alleviate the restrictions imposed by
single sensor data. Overall accuracy was greater than 95% and overall kappa value was greater than 90% in our suggested 3D
CNN approach, which shows tremendous promise for impervious surface extraction. Because it uses multiscale convolutional
processes to combine spatial and spectral information and texture and feature maps, we discovered that our proposed 3D
CNN approach makes better use of urbanization than the commonly utilized pixel-based support vector machine classifier. In
the fast-growing big data era, image analysis presents significant obstacles, yet our proposed 3D CNNs will effectively extract
more urban impervious surfaces
