Strategic project
1. The Strategic Project
Task
Running simultaneously with the theoretical strategic focus in period 1, working in a group
(2 to 5 students) I would like you to carryout a general Strategic Study on an organization
of your choice. You can base your study around an organizational SWOT analysis and
then use this analysis as a platform to explore other Strategic elements e.g. specific
functional strategies, competitive strategies and general corporate strategies. However,
you are free to approach the general direction of your study in any way you see as
appropriate, given the nature of your chosen organization and the industry it operates in.
Assessment
The assessment will be based on a written project report. The project report needs to be
approximately 15 to 20 A4 pages in length. The report needs to be submitted for
assessment by the end of the course in period 2 (check your schedule for exact date). I
can accept hard copies of your report but for convenience you can email the reports to me.
I will give you a specific email address for this purpose later in the course.
