By different means we all utilize perfumery and flavor materials, in our everyday life. Fragrances have a key part in religious ceremonies as it was considered to possess strengths to cure and protect from evil. We in our routine life starting from morning till night make different uses of products for personal care and cleanliness which have perfumes. Even consumables like confectionary contain some type of perfume or flavors. Most fragrance comes naturally form many plants. This smell is known as aroma which is a Latin word and those flora which have this aroma are known as aromatic plants. These aromas are extracted from some odoriferous material called essential oils. There is no dearth of aromatic plants in India.

This dissertation assesses the effectiveness of Payment for Ecosystem Service (PES) schemes in reducing rural poverty in African countries. The author conducted a literature review of studies on PES programs in Africa and analyzed their impacts on poverty. The results showed that poorer smallholders participated less than wealthier land users due to numerous constraints. While programs increased household income, many impacts were adverse, like temporary jobs and delays in payments. Overall, 75% of studies concluded PES had no significant impact on reducing poverty in Africa. The potential for PES to largely reduce poverty is minimal.
This document discusses micronutrients and today's lifestyle. It begins by defining micronutrients as vitamins and minerals that are required by the body in small amounts. It then notes how modern lifestyles have changed, with increased computer/mobile use and consumption of fast food replacing regular diets. These lifestyle changes are linked to non-communicable diseases. The document provides information on macronutrients and micronutrients, and compares the nutritional content of typical Indian food, fast food, and a balanced diet. It notes health issues in India like increasing diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevalence. Finally, it introduces Unicity as a company providing nutrient supplements as a solution to lifestyle-related health problems.

This document discusses issues related to patents, intellectual property rights (IPR), and their impact on agriculture and food security in India. It notes that provisions in international treaties and Indian laws regarding patents and IPRs have negatively impacted Indian farmers and the agriculture sector. While agricultural production and subsidies for fertilizers have increased over time, food insecurity remains a major problem in India. The document questions whether recent laws and policies favor commercial interests over the rights of farmers and food security for all Indians. It suggests there may be a conspiracy to control hunger for commercial gain.

Ethics of Wildlife Management and Conservation | Wildlife Removal | Charlotte NCCatawbaRemoval
This document discusses the ethics of wildlife management and conservation. It notes that wildlife management aims to control the effects of wildlife in urban and rural areas to avoid conflicts between animals and humans. Climate change and increasing human populations have contributed to more frequent conflicts. There are two main approaches to wildlife management - wise use of nature and preservation of nature. Both reject marginalizing or destroying wildlife. The primary goal of wildlife management is protecting human and animal health and safety while also protecting wildlife populations.
Climate Information and Early Warning Systems Communications ToolkitUNDP Climate
This section discusses best practices for issuing early weather warnings from developed and developing countries. It also explores the key challenges for effective early warning systems in Africa, including lack of reliable data, lack of credibility of national meteorological services, lack of response protocols, and limited capacity for packaging information. Defining roles and tools is important, and examples from Europe, the US, Philippines, and Benin provide models for standard operating procedures, collaboration, and establishing response matrices. Overcoming challenges in Africa will require innovative communications strategies and demonstrations of value.
This is an independent report regarding Greenwood Management and its operations in Brazil. This report was prepared prior to the establishment of some of the company's forestry investment in Brazil.
Focusing on the establishment of eucalyptus farm forestry crops on land owned by Greenwood management in the state of Bahia, Brazil this report uses commercial forestry models projected expected growth and yields for the tree crops grown using site specific date including meteorological data, soil data, and current growth and yields being achieved in the region. Greenwood Management started the establishment of its first forestry investments in the region in 2009 with the acquisition of several key sites centered around its operating base in the region.
The company has since grown to become one of the larger forest operators in the region and currently manages around 5,000 hectares of forestry land in the region.
Greenwood Management will be expanding this area further over the coming years and is already in the planning stages of developing a further 3,000 hectares of barren land for the companies reforestation projects in the region.
This document provides an independent assessment of Eucalyptus plantation productivity based on remote sensed and acquired data from two properties sites, Fazenda Tropical and Fazenda Santa Maria, located in Catu and Baião municipalities, Microregion of Extremo Oeste Baiano, in Bahia region, Brazil. Growth projections were modeled using local empirical growth models, 3-PG process based model, and results were compared to reported growth from Greenwood Management. Satellite imagery and GIS data were also processed to provide an overview of the areas, terrain, environment and climatological attributes. Graphical presentation of results is used to communicate the study findings.
This project is made from the efforts of Luchi Ybiernas, Alvin Ong, Yeonjung Nam, Raissa Go, Gabbrio Chua, and Matthew Almeda to complete the requirements in Political Science (POLISCI) in De La Salle University. The facts included in the powerpoint were collected from online research and the sources were acknowledged at the final slide.

This document summarizes key findings from a report on asylum claims related to sexual orientation and gender identity in Europe. It identifies several issues that European countries approach inconsistently, including whether criminalization of LGBT status in a country of origin is sufficient for asylum recognition. It also discusses problems with requiring LGBT asylum seekers to conceal their identity or seek protection from authorities in their home country. The discretion requirement for asylum seekers to remain closeted is problematic both in theory, by denying human rights, and in practice, as the closet is an unsafe place. The document recommends training for asylum adjudicators to address reliance on stereotypes in examining LGBT asylum applications.
The document discusses the roles of national and international bodies in addressing nutritional emergencies. National bodies are responsible for programs to control vitamin and mineral deficiencies, manage severe acute malnutrition, promote breastfeeding, fortify foods, and conduct nutrition monitoring and evaluations. International bodies provide technical support and guidance to UN partners, NGOs, and governments for early warning, emergency response, rehabilitation, establishing nutrition standards, determining food ration compositions, assessing malnutrition, nutrition surveillance, and supplementary and therapeutic feeding.
This document discusses the need for policy coherence across water, energy, food, environment, and agriculture sectors to maximize the benefits of irrigation projects. It provides several tools that can help different agencies coordinate, including surveys to assess understanding of cross-sectoral linkages, checklists to coordinate energy and irrigation planning, indicators to monitor irrigation's impacts on nutrition and the environment, and accounting measures to evaluate greenhouse gas emissions from irrigation. Achieving policy coherence through coordination across sectors can help irrigation better contribute to development goals like food security, health, climate change adaptation and mitigation, while minimizing negative trade-offs.
Holistic Education, Economy And Health Dr. Shriniwas Kashalikarsangh1212
The document discusses Dr. Shrinivas Kashalikar's view that implementing a holistic and productive education system can improve economies, health, and reduce stress. It argues that mainstream education neglects spiritual and productive domains. Introducing a productive domain component, like crafts and skills, into 25% of school time could make education accessible to all by making schools self-sufficient. This would reduce stress, dropout rates, unemployment and associated social problems.

Large Marine Ecosystems: Megaregional Best Practices for LME Assessment and M...Iwl Pcu
This document provides an overview of large marine ecosystems (LMEs) and efforts to implement ecosystem-based management (EBM) of LMEs. It notes that LMEs produce 80% of global fisheries catches and contribute $12.6 trillion annually to the global economy. The document outlines the five module assessment approach used for LMEs, including productivity, fish/fisheries, pollution, socioeconomics, and governance. It discusses how the Global Environment Facility has provided $6.01 billion since 1994 to support EBM planning and implementation projects in 22 LMEs. The LME approach is now the cornerstone of the GEF's ocean management strategy.

This document discusses the development of a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA). It outlines the steps to develop the TDA, including defining system boundaries, collecting and analyzing data, identifying and prioritizing transboundary problems, determining the impacts of priority problems, analyzing causes of problems, and developing thematic reports. It also discusses that the TDA provides factual basis for the strategic planning component and should involve engagement with stakeholders throughout the process. Finally, it notes that the TDA development team should be representative of participating countries and stakeholders.

This document provides information about governance analysis as part of the TDA/SAP process. It defines governance as the process of decision-making and implementation. Governance analysis examines the key aspects of political, economic, and civil society processes. It focuses on the dynamics of these relationships. There is no agreed approach, and the type of analysis will depend on the cultural, political, and social structures of the countries involved. The governance analysis should consider the decision-making, institutional, policy, and civil society arrangements that influence economic and political decisions affecting the issues being analyzed. The document provides advice to go beyond formal structures and understand informal dynamics and relationships.

This document provides guidance on drafting a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA). It discusses integrating various parts of the TDA, such as thematic reports, studies, and stakeholder analyses. It recommends that a TDA should be concise and easy to understand, with an executive summary, main text, supporting data/figures, maps, a content list, and acknowledgements. Technical reports can be annexed. The TDA size typically ranges from 80-150 pages. Preliminary recommendations for the Strategic Action Program can be included. The TDA should be reviewed by stakeholders and adopted by the steering committee, though government acceptance is also often required.

This document provides an overview of causal chain analysis (CCA) as part of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) process. It defines CCA as examining the linear cause and effect relationships between the causes of a problem and its impacts. The key components of a causal chain are described as the immediate, underlying, and root causes. A stepwise process for developing causal chains is outlined, including identifying the chain components and further developing the chains with data. Examples of completed causal chains for different regions are also presented.

This document is the main product of the SAP first phase; it
describes the group of high-priority actions that both
countries have coincided in identifying as necessary to
address the main environmental problems and their
transboundary manifestations.
It also establishes the institutional framework and it
determines the financing necessities for the selected
projects.
Through diverse mechanisms, the proposals, demands
and perceptions of the different regions were collect, those
were integrated at each country level and then at the basin
level.

19. Public ParticipationPublic Participation
Besides being a specific activity of the program, the Public
Participation is a work philosophy and an important component
that gives support to the Bermejo SAP.
Diversity of social actors: government's institutions (national,
subnationals and municipal), academic,NGOs, producers
organizations and the projects beneficiaries.
In the elaboration of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis
participated more than 30 institutions and 260 specialists of
different disciplines
More than a thousand people have contributed with their time and
ideas during the different phases of the program
Participation Mechanisms: seminars and workshops,
intergovernmental working group, work meetings, modern
mechanism of communication (electronic mail, WEB page),
20. Lessons LearnedLessons Learned
TDA/SAP process proved vital in the determination of
priorities, identification of needed actions, and
establishment of basin-wide, cross-sectoral support.
Active stakeholder participation and information sharing are
critical elements for sustainable natural resource
management (pilot demonstration projects as essential
component)
Multi-institutional approach during project formulation key
for promoting policy reform and coordinated management
frameworks
Early participation and commitment from financial
institutions, goverments and private sector is needed to
mobilize and secure adequate financing for implementation
of investments
21. Lessons LearnedLessons Learned
Because it is a pilot program on international waters,
its experiences in the Formulation Phase, the focuses,
methodologies and processes of the Bermejo SAP will
help to the new transboundery projects on continental
waters
The combined work carried out among technical
teams, in 2.000 km. of distance, with divergent points
of view and priorities, and the coordination with
Washington DC and Nairobi
The wide public participation
Incorporation of the Bermejo SAP projects in the plans
and programs of the regional institutions
