This document outlines different formats for television news stories, ranging from the simplest to most complex. The simplest format is a reader, which is a short anchor-read story without video. A full screen graphic allows for a visual while the anchor speaks. A voiceover story includes brief video clips while the anchor reads a script. A VOSOT adds an interview excerpt to a voiceover. The most complex format is a package, which can include voiceover, soundbites, reporter narration, and standups integrated together in a 1-1.5 minute video story.
