StopWatch Desktop Analytics is a software tool that measures employee workflow and resource utilization. It captures accurate data on application usage, helps analyze process compliance and inefficiencies, and enables monitoring of metrics to prove business cases and optimization successes. The tool generates logs of desktop activity without installing software or updating the registry. It then transmits these logs to a portal, shared folder, or processes them locally for analysis and graphical reporting on usage patterns down to the hourly, daily, and monthly level. Implementation occurs over three phases from workstation analytics to transaction analytics to optimization.

8. Stopwatch Technical Overview
• There are 3 versions of StopWatch depending upon need and Infosec restrictions:
• Local Version – Installed and runs on a single workstation
• Intranet Version – Installed on shared folder (internal/external – such as
Dropbox)
• Enterprise Version – Web portal for multiple programs, locations and users.
• No software installation or registry updated made to the workstation (except drop-
in for local version).
• Stopwatch generates a local log file of desktop activity – it is NOT a keylogger
• Periodically, at an approximate hourly interval one of three things happens
• Enterprise version: Log text file is sent via http post to a portal for graphic
analysis.
• Intranet Version: Log text file is sent to shared folder
• Local Version: Log text file is processed for update of graphical display on local
machine
• There is no customer specific or otherwise sensitive information transmitted
• No detectable CPU load or workstation latency -- invisible to users, runs entirely in
background
