•   Students need to be active participants in their learning
•   Students must be able to confirm their source is credible
•   Learning extends far beyond the walls of the classroom
•   We must move from a teacher-led leaning model to a
    student-centered collaborative model
Educator Preparation & Development
• Learning in technology and information-rich settings
  requires radical re-tooling
• Securing time, resources and effective models for
  professional development are a must
• The need for teachers will be high
• We must prepare our new generation of teachers
Leadership, Administration &
         Instructional Support
• Vision building leadership plays a pivotal role
• Fulfilling this vision requires district, campus
  and teacher leaders to advocate technology
  for teaching and learning
• Leaders must model effective use of

Infrastructure for Technology
• The state of Texas has made great strides in connecting
  schools to each other, external resources and the Internet
• Infrastructure capacity must support teaching and learning
• Maintaining appropriate funding for support and maintenance
  is necessary
