Recommendation – Steve Evans, PMP®
CSM®
SP®
To whom it may concern:
I was asked by Steve Evans to provide a letter of recommendation. It is with no
hesitation that I recommend him for a position in your organization; I am delighted to
recommend Steve. I have known him for the past few years in his volunteer role, assisting in one
of our senior level capstone classes at the University of Arkansas.
One of the hallmarks of our senior level class in the Information Systems Department,
Sam M. Walton College of Business is to invite volunteers from local companies to participate in
classroom instruction; they bring realism to the classroom. This capstone class is designed to
have student’s pull together learning from most of their major courses and actually accomplish a
project – the goal is from design to delivery. Students are expected to use real-world concepts
and principles of project management as well as analysis & design, coding, database, and
communication to complete a semester-long project. Acting as a volunteer “Consultant”, Steve
is assigned to student teams where he has stepped up for the past few years, making tremendous
contributions to the instruction and to the teams. We can always rely on him as we begin
planning for each semester. From my observation as a faculty member, Steve is always willing
to take on new challenges and has expressed a sincere interest in mentoring students – “they are
our future”; he motivates them to strive for excellence as well to ensure they are aware of the
‘next steps’ into the world of business, whether through best practice and/or certification.
Steve impresses me as a driven and conscientious person; he described to me with great
enthusiasm regarding project management, its future and his leadership role with the local
Project Management Institute Chapter (http://nwapmi.org/). We have also discussed at length
what it means to lead a project team, as well as the knowledge and commitment needed to be
successful – I have witnessed that expertise numerous times in his interactions with the capstone
and University of Arkansas Association of Information Student Chapter – I envision he is no less
capable in the professional arena. He brings a passion, determination and commitment to
succeed. Moreover, Steve is extremely personable, truly present with others, capable, dedicated,
and mature with a strong work ethic.
Steve will surely be the beneficiary of this opportunity; however, based on my knowledge
of him, I know that any organization and staff will be impressed with him as well. I would be
happy to discuss any specific questions you may have regarding Steve. Please do not hesitate to
contact me (cronan@uark.edu) should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Timothy Paul Cronan
