The Mayor of London works to make London a more resilient, sustainable and resource efficient city, where businesses want to be based and where people want to live and work.
To achieve the Mayorโs vision for the environment, the GLA develops and delivers a set of results-focused programmes. These programmes also create jobs and attract investment in areas such as waste recycling, water, green infrastructure, energy and the low carbon and green economy.
RE:FIT and RE:NEW are the Mayor of London award-winning programmes to help make London homes, non-domestic buildings and assets more energy efficient by cutting carbon emissions and energy bills. These programmes support organisations to develop and bring their energy efficiency projects to market.
The Mayorโs DEPDU Successor programme โ 50% funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) - is set up to support the Mayorโs target of 25 per cent of Londonโs energy to be generated through Decentralised Energy (DE) by 2025. The programme supports others to develop and bring their DE projects to market.
Private sector organisations are still affected by the public sector regulations, if payment for goods and services are coming from the public purse.
In this webinar, Kath Johnson from YPO provides you with a broad overview and insight into the many options that a public sector buyer considers, when choosing their compliant route to market.
She takes you through the different stages of participating in e-tendering portals, from registering your organisation, through to completion of a tendering process with some helpful tips in between.

At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
ย
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

6. Community Benefits
โข Community benefits are initiatives, schemes or programmes that
suppliers can provide in addition to the service they provide - for the
benefit of the communities affected by the service.
โข Suppliers will be asked what they can do to ensure that their service
benefits the community.
โข Different types of contract will have different community benefit
opportunities. Some examples:
โ Social: apprenticeship programmes, Section 106, training
opportunities
โ Economic: employment opportunities, use of local supply chains
โ Environmental: environmental programmes, carbon emissions,
recycling, alternative energy sources

7. 10 Top Tips
London Borough of Lambeth
7
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
8. 1. Do Your Homework
โข Find out all you can about the public body who is awarding the
contract.
โข Look at their website and read their aims, goals and strategies so you
can understand their priorities, processes and requirements. See the
Lambeth website here:
http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/Services/Business/TendersContracts/
โข Where relevant, use and support that information in your tender.
โข Read through โSelling To The Councilโ, guidance on the tendering
process at Lambeth:
http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/Services/Business/TendersContracts/Selli
ngToTheCouncil.htm.
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
9. 2. You Must Be Pre Qualified
โข All suppliers tendering with or providing quotes to Lambeth must be
prequalified.
โข The Lambeth Business Questionnaire (BQ) is used for tenders valued
at ยฃ25,000 and greater and suppliers must complete it online. The
best scoring BQs create a shortlist for invitation to tender.
โข For quotes valued from ยฃ0.00-ยฃ25,000 suppliers need to complete a 2
page Supplier Self Certification Form.
โข Advice:
โ Answer all questions honestly, briefly and in full.
โ If you have any questions, contact the officer who sent out the BQ
โ No blank spaces!
โ Complete the BQ in full and submit it on time.
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
10. 3. Read & Understand
โข Read all the tender documentation clearly to understand
what you will be required to deliver.
โข An officer will be assigned as first point of contact on the
procurement exercise. Contact them if you have any
questions.
โข Consider the time commitment when tendering and how it
might affect your business and your life.
โข Try to decide early on if the contract is one that you can
deliver.
โข There are NO STUPID QUESTIONS!
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
11. 4. Provide The Right Information
โข The tender will ask all suppliers to provide some very
specific information about the quality and price of the
service they can provide.
โข Provide all of the information requested and do not
leave any blank spaces. If you cannot provide some
of the information, for whatever reason, ask for
advice.
โข All Tenders will be scored and a blank space always
gets ZERO POINTS.
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
12. 5. Get Ready To Go Online
โข Lambeth and other local authorities are working towards increasing
the number of tendering exercises that are conducted online.
โข At Lambeth all tenders valued at ยฃ25,000 and greater must be
completed online.
โข The EU Supply system we use is easy, flexible and secure. Login
and register onto the Lambeth portal here: https://lblambeth.eu-
supply.com/login.asp?B=LBLAMBETH.
โข Find the user guides and read more on our eProcument portal on the
Lambeth website here:
http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/Services/Business/TendersContracts/ePro
curement.htm.
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
13. 6. Follow The Format
โข When you open your tender pack, carefully read through
the specification โ it is the most important document in the
ITT.
โข Follow the format of the specification exactly and respond
to the specification in the order it is presented.
โข This will make it easier to evaluate!
โข Tenders that cannot be understood can be deemed
โambiguous tendersโ and may be removed from
competition.
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
14. 7. Show Me The Money
โข Be clear on your pricing model and state any assumptions
you have made when pricing - for example, resources
required by you and/or the Council, timetables, etc.
โข Present your prices exactly as they are requested. If you
do not understand from the documentation HOW you are
meant to express your pricing, ASK.
โข Where possible, add any possible pricing improvements:
โ Price capping
โ Fixed prices
โ Volume discounts, etc.
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
15. 8. Watch The Clock
โข All tenders will have a date for return โ make a note of this
first and schedule in the work you need to do on your
ender.
โข You must complete and upload the documents by the
given time and date and make sure to sign anything that
should be signed.
โข In most cases, late tenders will not be considered for
further competition. But do not be afraid to ask for more
timeโฆ.
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
16. 9. Get Feedback
โข If you are unsuccessful, the authority will offer you a
debrief on your tender.
โข This will help you to understand how where your tender
submission was strong and the areas where you can
improve for future tender applications.
โข If you are not offered a debriefing, ASK FOR IT.
โข Debriefing will contain only information about your tender
โ not the other suppliers competing for the contract.
London Borough of Lambeth
Corporate Procurement Team
V1 - 17 June 2012
b
17. 10. Increase Your Options
โข Register with all the local authority and government
supplier portals you can!
โข These provide organisations with the opportunity to
register an interest in supplying goods and services
with many councils:

18. What We Want To See From You
๏ผ Completed tenders that are well presented and completed on
time
๏ผ When preparing your tender, think about the BEST PRICE that
you can offer. In public sector procurement we do not
negotiate after tenders have been returned
๏ผ Community benefits

19. If You Do Not Win A Contract,
Donโt Be Discouraged!
โข If you are unsuccessful do not be discouraged -
competition for public sector contracts is usually quite
strong.
โข Public bodies do not retain a โbanned listโ of suppliers.
โข Contact the procurement officer concerned for feedback
on which elements of your tender were your strengths and
which areas can improve.
โข Use the de-briefing information to your advantage.
โข Keep trying to get your foot in the doorโฆ
