1. Racism affects the viability of liberalism. On one hand, when you stop someone from being a racist, you comprise their individual rights to be a racist. On the other hand, if you are the victim of racism your individual rights are being compromised. This is how liberalism is invalidated, because individual rights, along with human rights are both aspects of liberalism, and are both being compromised in different situations. Also, one of the principles of liberalism is rule of law, which states that everyone is equal under the law. When people are subjected to racism, they are no longer considered equal. For example, in the state of Alabama, black people were not allowed to sit anywhere but the back of the bus. This government implemented law is proof that liberalism is unviable, because this is where black people are considered unequal. Also, in Canada until about 50 years ago, first native children were sent to different schools so they could be taught to be like white people. When the government is compromising people’s rights to be in a normal school, they are compromising liberalism.<br />Censorship also diminishes liberalism, because it is revoking a person’s individual rights. When the government takes away someone’s right to freedom of speech, they are taking away one of their rights. This is rejecting individual rights in the principles of liberalisms. This also infringes on our rights to the truth.<br />Terrorism has lead to the limiting of individuals rights. Security is more up kept and strict. There is more information being withheld from the public. This is going against individual rights and freedoms because people are being denied the right to know information and to be given answers. It also goes against rule of law because under the rule of law everyone is equal and if different people are being denied different rights for different reasons then they are not equal. <br />
