• We use Present Simple to describe an action takes place in the present or a
routine
• In present simple tense, there is a subject and a verb
• A subject can be a noun (A box, a chair, a lamp) or a pronoun(I, he, she, it)
• The verb must be in 1st participle
• Additional details or an adverb can be added after the verb
• In negative form, the term “do not” is added before the verb.
• When forming a question, To-Be verb comes first
• The prefix –es and –s should be added accordingly

7. Present Continuous
(Present Progressive)

• We use Present Continuous to describe an ongoing action in the
present (e.g someone doing something)
• In Present Continuous, the subject and verb is connected by the To-Be
verb (is/are/am)
• The verb needs to include the prefix –ing at the back
• Additional details can also be added after the V-ing (She is performing
the task very quickly)
