MISE-EN-SCENE
• In the scene from Star Wars we can see the battle between
first order and the rebels. Throughout the scene we are
witnessing the two sites fighting until the first order captures
Rey.
• Lighting – There are different lighting setting throughout the
scene. It goes from dimly lit lighting to a day light.
• Costumes – Costumes are very futuristic with a lot of
elements typical for science fiction movies. The movie has the
typical bad characters wear black and good characters wear
white.
• Props – Futuristic guns, lightsaber, X-wings and Taifighters.
CAMERA
• There are a range of camera shots within the scene.
Wide shots are used frequently by the director to show
the battlefield or show how big the First Order’s army
actually is.
• Close up shots are also used before jump scares or
when showing emotions.
SOUND
• The diegetic sound helps to create a sense of battle. The
constant sound of blasters being fired creates this sense
of intensity and adds to the impact of the danger
surrounding them.
EDITING
• The editing within the scene is extremely fast paced.
This begins to happen when Rey touches Anakin’s
lightsaber.
