Egypt Startups Ecosystem 101 - Country Overview Dec 2015Ameer Sherif
I delivered this presentation to the Geeks on a Plane tour members (http://geeksonaplane.com/) while on their first visit to Cairo, Egypt on the 12th of Dec 2015 - right before the start of RiseUp Summit 2015.
Being 500 Startups' first company in Egypt - Batch #8 - I did my best to explain the challenges and opportunities in the Egyptian startups Ecosystem. It's tough growing a startup here but still a huge potential and golden opportunity for global tech investors given the growth potential in web and mobile trends...
List of startups mentioned ... just a sample of Egyptian startups in the scene with extremely STRONG TRACTION... up to millions of dollars in revenue or 100s of thousands of users!!

Things startups need to know if they want to raise capital from Silicon ValleyJeff Clavier
I used this deck in a keynote at the Kima Ventures portfolio day, in Paris (France) on Dec 9, 2013. Kima has a very large portfolio of investments, mostly located outside of the US. Founders often hope to raise capital in Silicon Valley over the course of their financing journey, and my goal was to draw their attention to the traps and pitfalls ahead of them.
Deal sourcing is the first step towards an investment process in Venture Capital. Pratim Pathak from pi Ventures walks through the learnings developed on how to source effectively and strategically as a part of the pi fellows program.

Bootstrapping is the art of lifting oneself by the bootstraps. It may sound impossible, but bootstrapping is how many startups survive. Thanks to smart new ways of leveraging limited resources, including the emergence of crowdfunding, bootstrapping is an increasingly viable—and sometimes even the most desirable—funding strategy for early-stage startups. This lecture will cover both the strategic and the practical aspects of bootstrapping for early-stage companies.
The marketing choices available to you flow from your ability to deliver and capture value. Value is determined by how much satisfaction your product offers and much effort it requires. Positioning takes sacrifice. It means giving up the vast majority of the market, in exchange for a very small niche that your are best suited to dominate. The war may take place in the market, but each battle is fought in the mind. Social validation is the most powerful catalyst for action. Limit your efforts to 3 channels in parallel. The sooner you can start executing, the sooner you can find what channels will work for you. Check the math before taking on a new channel. Avoid getting lost in tactics and aimless execution, by defining what success looks like. Create the report you will use to measure success and build the infrastructure to support it. It is much easier to double your revenue by doubling your conversion rate than it is by doubling your traffic. Test copy over design, and drastic changes over subtle ones. Now that you’ve followed all the rules, it’s time to throw away the rulebook. Time to try some new ideas, and find unorthodox ways to multiply your customer base.
How do you figure out how much money you need, and when? We’ll look at a case study and talk P&L to help you determine the right market for your product and which funding source is most appropriate to maximize the exit for your company.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.
