The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Human Resources Strategic Plan aims to transform the VA's human resources function from 2005-2010. The plan seeks to ensure the VA has the right employees with the right skills to provide high quality service to veterans. It outlines goals to improve HR policies and procedures, develop an effective HR information system, align HR activities with the VA's overall mission and budget, and foster collaboration both within the VA's HR community and with external stakeholders. The strategic plan was developed with input from the VA administrations, staff offices, and the Office of Personnel Management to create an integrated personnel system that serves all parts of the VA.
