Ancient Egyptian history spans over 3,000 years, one of the longest continuous histories of any modern nation. Egypt is famous for its pyramids and pharaohs, with over 130 pyramids discovered so far. The Egyptians invented many technologies still used today like paper, pens, and toothpaste. They also had a complex writing system with over 700 hieroglyphs.
The document discusses the results of a study on the impact of climate change on global wheat production. Researchers found that rising temperatures will significantly reduce wheat yields across different regions by the end of the century. Under a high emissions scenario, the study projects a global average decrease in wheat production of around 6% by 2050, with reductions of up to 25% in some lower-latitude locations.
Cod is a popular food that is also used to make cod liver oil, which provides vitamins A, D, E, and omega-3. Scrod is a term for young cod under 1.1 kg that is commonly eaten in New England and Atlantic Canada. Fast food is prepared quickly and sold at restaurants like McDonald's, Wendy's, and Burger King. However, eating a lot of fast food can lead to health issues such as high cholesterol, clogged arteries, diabetes, and even death.
Grbn trust and personal data survey a call to actionAndrew Cannon
The GRBN global Trust & Personal Data survey highlights just how concerned people are about their data and who they (dis)trust with their data. What needs to be done (by whom) to improve trust?

The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, was a large marble temple located near the city of Ephesus in present-day Turkey. It was dedicated to the goddess Artemis and measured around 115 meters long and 55 meters wide, making it three times the size of the Parthenon. The temple housed many fine artworks and sculptures and had 127 Ionic columns that were each 17.5 meters tall. Though only ruins remain today, it was an important religious site that attracted thousands of pilgrims from across Asia Minor.
GRBN Trust and Personal Data Survey report - Part 1 - Concern, familiarity, t...Andrew Cannon
A detailed report on the results from GRBN's 24 country global survey on the issue of Trust & Personal Data. The report dives into how the level of familiarity with the issue as well as the level of concern about the abuse of personal data varies across the globe. The report compares how trustworthy people consider different types of both public and private organisations to be, and looks at how sensitive people consider different types of personal data to be.
- The document describes the BENEFIT-ALS clinical trial which evaluated the safety and efficacy of tirasemtiv in people with ALS.
- The trial involved over 680 patients across 8 countries who received open-label tirasemtiv followed by 12 weeks of double-blind treatment with escalating doses of tirasemtiv or placebo.
- Preliminary results show tirasemtiv was generally well tolerated. While changes from baseline on efficacy measures were small, the direction of effects on respiratory and muscle function were consistent with a potential benefit of tirasemtiv compared to an expected rate of decline in ALS.
The document discusses several topics related to Georgia including Georgian culture, cuisine, winemaking, and history. It notes that the Georgian Parliament has 150 members and is unicameral. Georgia's main foreign policy priority is integration into NATO. The document also provides a brief history of the city of Batumi, mentioning that the earliest references to it by the name Batusi come from Greek philosopher Aristotle in the 4th century BC and noting it has one of the deepest harbors on the Black Sea.
Ancient Egyptian history spans over 3,000 years, one of the longest continuous histories of any modern nation. The document provides facts about various aspects of ancient Egyptian civilization, including their invention of paper, pens, locks and keys, and toothpaste. It also discusses some of Egypt's most famous structures from ancient times, such as the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, which continue to stand as symbols of Egypt's rich historical legacy.
The document discusses various student presentations about food from different cultures around the world. 2.
