Why did I choose Cebu to study English?
1.低コストだから
very cheap and dramatically low cost
2.マンツーマンの英語教育が受けられるから
I can take man-to-man class
3.フィリピンへ行ったことがなかったから
I had never been to Philippines
4.セブはリゾート地としても有名だったから
Cebu is famous for the resort area
5.二月の寒い日本から暖かい国へ逃げたかったから
I wanted to go to a tropical country to escape from cold Japan in
February lol

4. 2.なぜCLAを選んだのか
Why did I choose the cebu leaders academy(CLA)?
1.小規模でアットホームな学校だったから
The school is small and at-home
2.日本人が少ないと聞いたから
I heard that there were few Japanese people
3.教師の質がよいという学校の宣伝にひかれたから
The school emphasized the high quality of teachers
4.日本人のエージェントの人に勧められたから
Japanese agent recommended it to me
5.学校の立地条件がよさそうだったから
The location of the school seemed good
6.必要最低限の設備が整っているなら問題ないと思ったから
The most basic facility is fine for me
※生徒も先生も15人ほどで、先生は全員フィリピン人でした
私の滞在期間では日本人が多く、生徒の半数以上は日本人でした
The number of both students and teachers is around fifteen and all of
teachers are from Philippines. When I was staying, more than half of students
were from Japan

6. 4.学校の特徴
About the CLA
1.小規模かつアットホーム
very small and at-home
2.新しい建物でキレイ
a new and clean building
3.24時間警備員つき
A security guard for 24 hours
4.自習室あり
There is a library for self-studying
5.ショッピングモールまで近い
Shopping malls are near from the school by jeepney
6.学校の規則がゆるい
School rules are very casual
7.翌日が平日の門限は22時、翌日が休日の門限は24時
Curfew is 10PM when the next day is weekday
Curfew is 12AM when the next day is weekend
※オーナーさんが韓国人なので基本は韓国人のための学校という感じでした。
The owner, maam sony, is a Korean so the school usually is for Koreans

About the dormitory
1.二人部屋♪
My room is for 2 people
2.教室まで10秒←神
It takes me only 10 seconds from my room to the class room
3.ミネラルウォーター飲み放題
I can drink mineral water however much I want
4.洗濯と掃除をほぼ毎日してくれる
House keepers do washing and cleaning almost every day
5.トイレとシャワーはセットで部屋と切り離されている
The bathroom is separated from the room
6.キッチンは一つ上の階
Kitchen is up stair floor
7.外出時にはゲートパスという外出許可証が必要
I need to get the gatepass for going out of the dormitory
※内部寮に日本人が多く滞在していたので、家族のようにすぐに仲良くなりました
Many Japanese were staying at the same dorm so we became close friends
immediately like a family

About meals
1.基本的には韓国料理
Korean meals are usually served
2.辛い料理が多い
There are many spicy meals
2.野菜が少ない
Vegetables are short
3.日本人の口にあわないものもある
Some foods don’t taste good for Japanese
※食事の時間 The time for meals

9. 7.授業の特徴
About classes
1.マンツーマンの授業は毎日およそ6時間
I had man-to-man classes for 6 hours every day
2.授業は一コマ50分
One class has 50 minutes
3.質問などがとても気軽にしやすい
I can ask my teachers small questions without hesitation
4.自分の好きなように授業をアレンジできる
I can arrange classes as I like
5.発言する機会がものすごくある
I have tons of chances to speak
6.先生との会話が楽しすぎて毎回爆笑
I really enjoyed the conversation with my teachers so I couldn’t stop
laughing every class
※先生たちの母国語はセブアノなので、時々互いの言語交換を行いました。
The mother language of teachers is Cebuano so we sometimes teach
our languages each other.

About teachers
1.とにもかくにもみんな超フレンドリー
Everyone is super friendly somehow lol
2.わかりやすい簡単な英語ではっきり発音してくれる
They speak simple English and pronounce clearly
3.親身になって丁寧に教えてくれる
They teach English politely and carefully
4.雑談が好きすぎる
They are very talkative and really like digression jejeje
5.なまりはたいてい気にならなかった
They don’ have such a strong dialect or accent
6.いつも楽しそうでよく笑う
They always look happy and laugh so often
7.小柄な先生が多いのでかわいかった<3
Most of teachers are short so look very cute <3
※先生とFBで友達になったり、休日に遊びに行ったりもします。
We can make friends with teachers on FB and sometimes hang out
together on weekdays

15. 12.英語力の向上に関して
About improvements of English
スピーキングの力が一番伸びたと思います。日本で生活していて
は一日に１時間でさえ英語で話す時間を持つことは難しいですが、
今回の留学では平日には一日10時間以上英語で話すことができま
した。ルームメイトとは部屋でもなるべく英語で話すということ
を心がけました。間違った文法であろうが、とにかく自分の意見
を相手に伝えるということを重視して、話し続けました。また同
時に、コミュニケーション能力も向上したと思います。
I think my speaking skill has been improved the most.
When I’m in Japan, it’s very difficult to get even one hour to
speak English in one day. However, I had chances to speak
English for more than 10hours in a day on weekdays in Cebu.
In addition, I tried to speak English with my roommate Tomo
as much as possible. I kept speaking even though my
grammar was wrong because I supposed it was the most
important to express myself in any way. Also, I seem to have
improved my communication skill as well.

16. 13.語学留学を終えて
My impression about studying abroad
セブへ語学留学に行って本当によかったと思っています。平日
には英語の勉強を朝から晩まで、休日は外出するというメリハリ
のある生活を送ることができました。また、英語の勉強だけでな
く、先生も含め多くの素晴らしい人々と現地で会う事ができまし
た。フィリピンという国の現状についても少しはすることができ
たように思います。遊びと勉強で本当に毎日が充実していました。
It was really nice to go to Cebu for studying abroad. I
devoted myself to studying English on weekdays. On the
other hand, I enjoyed hanging out with my friends on
weekends. Apart from studying English, I could meet many
wonderful people there. I think I could learn what
Philippines is like a bit more than before. I’m satisfied with
my life there because my schedule was full of plans to
study and hang out lol

Ending
セブで出会えた人たちに感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
ウニ踏んだり、体調崩したりして心配と迷惑かけて大変申
し訳ありませんでした(笑)。いつかまたどこかで必ず会え
ることを願ってます。
I appreciate people I met in Cebu from the bottom
of my heart. I’m so sorry for worrying and bothering
you when I stepped a sea urchin and sometimes lost
my health. I hope we can meet again definitely
someday :D ! I already miss all of teachers !!!
You must come to Japan to see me next time!
