Our brief was to create an installation for the roof of the Hothouse using Sellotape. We generated initial ideas focused on demonstrating the "Simple ingenuity" of Sellotape. The chosen idea was a giant spider web made entirely of Sellotape that would be lit up at night and move with the wind. Feedback on the idea praised its visual impact and how well it fit the brief of being simple yet ingenious, like a real spider's web.

The Genoese fortress located in Sudak, Crimea was built by the Genoese over nearly a century occupying 30 hectares and containing 14 towers named after consuls. In the 15th century, the Turks captured the fortress and later the Russians captured it. Restoration in the 1970s allowed some towers and walls to be rebuilt. The fortress contains an Orthodox cathedral that was originally a mosque built by the Turks. The Genoese fortress ruins are considered some of the most picturesque in Europe. Since 2001 it has hosted an annual knight arts festival and is considered a significant historical and cultural landmark reflecting defensive architecture from the 10th to 18th centuries.

Novodevichy Convent (Moscow)

Mir castle
